Miao, Enshi of ChinaThe Enshi Miao have absorbed Chinese culture and customs. Few still wear a traditional style of dress, and few of their ways are different from the Chinese around them. They no longer celebrate Miao festivals, although in recent years a movement has commenced to rediscover their roots as Miao people. Elderly Enshi Miao continue to worship their ancestors, especially during the annual ancestral rites when graves are cleaned and prayers are offered to the spirits of the dead. Most Enshi Miao under the age of 40 have no interest in religion. Most Enshi Miao have never heard the Gospel.Ministry ObstaclesSpiritual matters are spiritually discerned. If people are not interested in spiritual matters then availability of the good news of Christ is of little avail. Pray the Spirit of Christ will give the Enshi Miao the gift of conviction of sin.Outreach IdeasChristians must pray for the Enshi Miao. Pray the Lord will give them seeking hearts, and then, workers to carry the Gospel of Christ to them.Pray for the followers of ChristThere are a few Christian believers today among the Enshi Miao, most being Roman Catholics. Pray these people will learn to fully trust Christ's finished work on the cross for their salvation, and trust His Spirit to give them a victorious life today.Pray for the entire people groupPray for the younger people among the Enshi Miao to be given an interest in Christ, that their attitude of indifference will be shaken. Pray for searching hearts.Scripture Focus"Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me."
