What I see about Gov. Romney is that he says I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Hes raised from the dead and hes my savior. I see him as being a believer in Christ like me.
And thats enough for you? Rose questioned.
Thats enough for me, Osteen stated. Theres differences in all religion. I realize that Mormonism is different from Christianity, but you know what hes a man of faith and values. And to me thats strong.

I'm seriously not asking this question with an agenda, it's honestly something that I don't understand:
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a silence about this issue from pretty much every ministry in America?
I'm friends with a bunch of ministries that I respect and read pretty much everything that they have to say and I'm amazed at the silence surrounding this issue, it's very frustrating. I have about 15 'pastors' as friends on Facebook and there has been nothing but silence on the issue (actually there has been one pastor who has said something John Kilpatrick, that's it).
What is the thought process of these people? I think I must be missing something obvious can you please fill me in?
Throughout the Epistles Paul tells people to 'stay away from that guy, he loves money' BY NAME. This guy, this guy, and this guy abandoned me because they love respect and honor from men, BY NAME.
Are we living in some kind of bizzaro world where people don't care that many people are being deceived by this kind of stuff?
Do they fear men? Are they afraid of getting kicked out of their social circles? Seriously, someone tell me!
THESE PEOPLE FOLLOWING THIS TRASH ARE ON THE ROAD TO HELL DO THEY CARE?
For the Love of Jesus, someone has got to say something! Paul Washer seems like a modern day John the Baptist in calling it out, Brother Zac in India, but other than that there isn't much talk about it.
One thing I DO KNOW: in reading the Old Testament people went to GREAT LENGTHS to shut up a true prophet (Jeremiah, Elijah and Jezebel). Is this in itself the answer?
I'm telling you THIS IS REALLY BOTHERING ME and if you have any understanding please fill me in, I'll honestly listen to you!
Much love! |

| Re: Am I SERIOUSLY MISSING something? | | HI Learjet,
Your not missing anything brother. There are sacred cows in America, and to what extent these sacred cows are worshipped still remains to be truly exposed. Will ones political philosophy trump one's Christian convictions? In the end ( not this coming election) will capitilism and republicinism prove to have more true followers than Jesus? Just how important is " our way of life?" Is the American dream more important? Some may say " well you can have both?"
More and more, the envelope is being pushed and social issues are taking a back seat and nullifying that argument. Its more important to beat the other guy than it is to have moral convictions. Many of my brothers used to tell me that they would never vote for anyone unless they were staunchly anti-abortion. Many used to tell me that it was vitally important that we have a Christian in the White-house. I wonder how many of these brothers will be voting for Govenor Romney? Will they once again use the tired old argument that its choosing the lesser of two evils? I dont know. I do feel that the Lord is directing this country in such a way that it is making it very hard to be involved in the political process and still be able to stand by your convictions. Most know my opinion on that and know that I think that that would be a good thing. Obviously all of that was my opinion and I have zero desire to engage anyone in a political conversation, my interest alone is in how Christians behave and should behave wherever we find ourselves........brother Frank |

Thanks for your responses!
There's an obvious political spin to this story but honestly that's not my point.
What irritates me the most is Joel's statement here. Heck, you don't have to give up anything now, you can even keep your cult and be considered to be a Christian?
When I was saved the first thing that I noticed is I wanted to be like Christ and disassociated myself with sin. The things that I used to love I no longer considered worthy of my time. I had a hunger to know God's word and be filled with the Spirit. There was a massive change in my life I was going this way, and the next day I was going that way.
Jesus said:
Quote:
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Wont you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, This person began to build and wasnt able to finish. -Luke 14:28-30
The predominant message that you hear now is 'come to Jesus, you don't have to give up anything' you can keep on viewing pornography and Jesus will save you, you can keep your ties to a cult and Jesus will save you, you can keep all of your wealth and deal crookedly in your business and Jesus will save you.
If all of this is this is true then why did Jesus even mention 'counting the cost'? Surely He meant that serving Him would cost us everything! But that's not the message that we hear in 99% of churches in America.
TRUE STORY:
I was at a church meeting in Redford, Michigan. When the altar call was given a Muslim lady in full Arabic garb came to the altar sobbing uncontrollably (no doubt touched by God). In my spirit I knew what this was going to mean for her, possible death, the rejection by her family, she was probably going to be homeless, but she came anyway! This woman knew the cost that was going to have to be paid. |

Hi jimp,
If you would be so kind, please read what I wrote. My problem is the message, not the messenger and I've made that abundantly clear.
We are to consider the message, its not being 'negative' or 'critical' to point it out either, it's our responsibility to weigh what we hear against what the Word of God says.
Peace. |

Brother, in spite of Paul calling people out, I do not believe that Christ exhibited that behavior and we are reminded that Jesus did say, 'Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." (Matt 22.21)
Let me add that I understand your pain because I can't even watch the news anymore when they are talking about politics. I can just feel anger, fear and such rising up inside of me so I am learning to turn off the TV and pray. I'm just going to be honest with you, I don't care WHO the next republican nominee for president is and I don't care what his religion is... I'm voting for him; so I am staying out of the details that get me sidetracked from my Jesus.
Because brother, I have noticed a horrible trend for the last 3 years... Christians (or the ones I come into contact with) seem to have placed all their hope in the Republican party far more than they have the One True God; they are getting more and more political instead of more Godly.
That's just my two cents, God bless you, I hope this helped somewhat, Lisa _________________ Lisa

| Re: | | hi, my life has changed greatly over the last 48 years of walking in the Spirit. i do not put down others or their ministry because i still have so much on my own table. john osteen was a friend and one of the greatest influences in my life.i am therefor prejudist in my feelings about joel who has had no bible shool or seminary training and taking over a church of 8 to 10000 people.i am also a grace man and not a law man.sure, joel has made some mistakes that are glaring and so have i. ichoose to pray for God to mature him and give him as annointing greater than he has now for he is the most popular preacher in the U.S.among the lost and the casual believer. |
