I was in a service a month or so back and a friend ministered on the first miracle that Jesus performed. The application blessed me so much I wanted to share it. Joh 2:6-10(6) And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.(7) Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.(8) And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.(9) When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,(10) And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.The waterpots that Jesus told the servants to fill were the pots used for purification. These were not pots that were used as containers for pure drinking water. Rather they were post used for washing. We are not told when the water turned to wine. Perhaps it was in the stone pots, or perhaps it was in the pitchers carried by the servants to the guests of the feast. In either case it was Jesus who, by the power of the Holy Spirit, affected the transformation. So many times we try to make ourselves more palatable to men so we can have more influence. Often those who minister try to make themselves into something pleasant to drink so that people will seek after what they have to offer. What God drove home to me through my friend opening these scriptures is that all we ever need to be is wash water. It is not up to us to make anything of ourselves. But if we are willing to allow ourselves to be poured out willingly by Jesus, He will make of us the finest wine. We need to release ourselves from the need to perform and simply be surrendered and obedient. Do what God asks of you and leave it up the the Holy Spirit to make of you the wine that will minister to others.

AmenWhat God asks of us is to humble ourselves, that He will exalt us in due time... And He will exalt us to serve one another; for he that serves in meekness and in Truth is greatest. We are commanded to humble ourselves as little children.Humility keeps us abiding in Him; the humility He graces us with. One must come to the understanding, to the conviction, that truly it is God alone who wills in us what is good and pleasing in His sight; and, that without Him, we can do nothing.I mistakenly left out a word, which is why I went back to edit this post.
