 Please pray for my father

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ:
I am writing to ask for prayer for my father. He is 83 years old and UNSAVED and recently has been hospitalized. He had a heart attack, but ignored the pain for weeks. It is a miracle he is still alive.
My fear for him is that he will die without knowing Christ. He has been a member of a false religion (not a Christian cult) for about 50 years and is blind to the truth of the gospel. He has not allowed me to share my faith with him. I am praying that God will use this opportunity to show my father the Truth. He lives very far from me so I have not been able to go see him. he does not feel well enough to talk on the phone.

Please pray for the salvation of my father (and mother) and that God will heal him of this illness (but this is secondary).

 Re:

My father has had a turn for the worse. I spoke to my mother this morning about my fear that he is not saved and what might happen to him (they are not followers of Christ) and her response is why do we Christians think that we are the only ones that have a relationship with God. She told me that if that is why I want to go and see my father it is best that I do not come, since I will offend him. (I am the only one in my family who follows Christ; there has been an underlying unspoken resentment about this, since I broke away from the family's religion).

Please continue to pray that my father and mother will be saved before he passes to the next world. I feel the need to storm the gates of heaven for him.

Thank you in advance for keeping them in your prayers.

(mama: I have been in continuing prayer for your children. I will also pray for you mother)

 Re:

I have been praying - will continue....if you cannot go see him, maybe God will send a nurse or someone in the hospital...will storm the gates with you...

and thank you for praying - weekends are particularly difficult. My prodigal is doused with cologne, ready to go out for the night - we do not know where....

 Re:

I am praying as well.

Lord, we know that it is You and only You that can open the eyes of the blind and there are so many of us who have older ones whom we are not sure if they are truly saved or not. Lord, we pray with all our being that You will open the eyes that have not seen their need for Salvation nor see the great love and forgiveness of the Savior.

You said we can ask Lord so we are asking. Not for material things but for souls Lord, souls for Your Kingdom, for You are worthy Lord.

And we thank You Lord as we come together and hold these dear ones up to You trusting that You will open hearts, ears and eyes to see Jesus. Prepare the way Lord, prepare the hearts to receive You.

We pray for a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as when and what to speak to them. We pray we will not be anxious to cloud out Your voice but we will spend time with You in Your Word and in prayer Lord that peace will come upon us that we may hear Your voice.

We love You our Lord and Savior, we believe, we trust, we rejoice that You are the Mighty God of all Creation and Jesus You are the Savior and lover of our souls. And Holy Spirit You are the One who works to open the eyes & hearts.

Nothing and no one is impossible with and for you. For You are God!

Now we will continue in prayer and supplications, in Your Word and trusting you with all faith.

We love You adore You, we bow down to You Lord of Lord and King of Kings, our great God, our awesome Savior and the most wonderful Holy Spirit.

In Jesus Precious & Powerful Name!

Amen!

Re: Please pray for my father

roman, I understand your concern and fear, if you want to call it that. I also understand your frustration in not being there to speak to him. But I would like to share with you a testimony of a lady who was prohibited from visiting her brother who was deathly ill...

Shirl was banned from visiting her terminally ill brother because of her faith. They prayed that God in his mercy would speak to her brother. AND HE DID! God revealed himself supernaturally to him and he came to the LORD. There was no other human being involved.

Too many times we think that if the right person would be at the right place at the right time, a life changing decision will be made...but it is always dependent on the right person, right time. This mindset is dependent on human beings. God usually uses people, but not always. He is not dependent on them. He knows whether this person will respond to Him and when and will facilitate that process. He also knows those that will reject Him. Consider these verses:

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

I know this promise was made to the Jews but I would understand it is not limited to them - we see this principle at work all around us.

Pray and wait and let God be God.

(We also have a lot of loved ones away from God...one must learn to not assume the responsibility of anothers' salvation.)

God bless...and will pray for you as the Holy Spirit reminds me.
