 The despised of Christ

1 Cor.1:28-29
He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, So that no one may boast before him.

While Europe has rejected Christ and predominately '.Christian' countries are turning toward seculsrism and Islam, a reval is taking place among a despised group of people. The gospel is going forth and bringing many Roma or gypisies to Christ. Historicaly the gypsies have been despied by mainline Europe and treated as outcast. Recently France ordered all of the gypsies to leave their country.

Yet the gospel is coming into the Roma people bringing the hope that only Jesus can give to the despised and downtrodden. Reports are coming forth of marvelous conversions to Jesus and even signs and wonders that accompany gospel preaching. Those gypsies that have been converted will share their newfound faith in joyous testimony with others who will listen. One can only be amazed at what God is doing in Europe in these end times. While Europe grows dark, the light of Christ burns among the gypsies.

When we look at revival it seems those who are despised in the eyes of the world have been the most receptive to the gospel. The early church was composed mainly of poor people. Even today the gospel moves in power among the poor in India, Asia, Africa, Central, and South America. In America I hear reports how people in gangs and homeless camps are turning to Christ in greater numbers than those in suburban churches.

Where are the revivals taking place. Is it not in the so called 'third world'. Is it not in those countries we fail to esteem. Who would think that God would have dynamic house church movements in China and Iran. Who would imagine thr gospel moving in glorious part in Mexico and South America.

James tells us has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised to those who love him.

Saints look around. Revival is happening. It is happening among the despised. Will we not but humble ourselves to recieve what God is doing among those who are despised in the eyes of the world?

only those who can smell the Sweet Fragrance of Messiah, can do nothing BUT be drawn to Jesus. But those who bring strange fire and the stink it gives off, stumble many of God's little ones, His sheep, helpless and harrassesd, those who do and are doing as such, prepare to be fitted for their millstone. the ocean is deep.

Amen, my friend, amen. As Jesus said it would be better if they had not been born.

Praise the Lord, Brother Blaine!, and well-said.

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty..." I Corinthians 1:26-27

Be well,

 Re: The despised of Christ

An absolutely beautiful post and truth that has endured down through the years.

Not only are the movements in China and Iran are in place, but these groups of Saints are willing to die. That is glorious in itself, what a fragrance ?
