Great thread folks. Please remember there is a huge and very clear difference between Justification and Sanctification.Justification is a free gift from God. It is our salvation and our assurance in Christ that we will indeed enter his kingdom. It is not by works, lest any man should boast.Sanctification however, quite clearly is a life-long process that we must work hard at, empowered, led and taught by the Holy Ghost. Jesus calls these believers that follow him, overcomers and he promises many rewards to those that overcome.Refer to the Letters to the Seven Churches in the opening chapters of Revelation in addition to the gospels - especially Matthew where Christ makes it very clear there are rewards on offer for those that bear particular fruit. This reward, actually "inheriting" the Kingdom as contrasted with simply "entering" the Kingdom is Christ allowing the overcomers to rule & reign with Him.Paul was paranoid that he must push onto the mark of the high-calling, that even after all the fruit he has borne, he might lose his own reward. He's very clear on this. See 1 Cor 9:24-27Now, don't confuse this. He is not talking about losing his salvation - his justification. No, he is talking about the rewards Christ offers those believers who are willing to die to self, take up their cross and follow him daily.I think a lot of folks may be quite surprised upon reaching Heaven. Don't take my word for it. Be a Berean and search it out yourself.

Pandarus,I was noteing that you said `Paul was paranoid'.Oh NO,..never!Please research.Jesus came preaching`The Gospel of Kingdom of God'Paul continued on teaching and preaching`The Gospel of The Kingdom, and the princables of that Kingdom.Where there is a Kingdom, there is a King,That King is Jesus. He came to Live inside of us(through the Holy Spirit) to rule..beLord in our life.`Be led by the Spirit'.Paul said,`He had to keep his life in subjection ...Lest when he had preaced to others he,himself would be a castaway'...He said `He lived and moved and had his being in Him.'The Lord is willing to do the works , through His GRACE, if we will submit to his leading.GRACE:`The Devine Inflence upon the heart, and it`s reflection in the life'Let us all search it out.Respectfully, Elizabeth
Hi Christinyou, fyi - I am talking about the same cross. The one Christ told us about in Luke 9:23. I agree with you.Dear Mod, please move this post.
hi, we are saved by grace thru faith... justification is when we first got saved... sanctification is how we are being saved... glorification is when we shall be saved. it is all about Jesus and His finished work.jimp
"Now, don't confuse this. He is not talking about losing his salvation" Revelation 3:5. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Please explain then if one can not "losing his salvation" about Christ Himself "blot out his name out of the book of life"There are many other scriptures paralleling this.robert
