| President Obama marks Ramadan | | By Alexander Mooney, CNN
Washington (CNN) President Obama Monday is marking the beginning of Ramadan, the month-long Muslim holiday of fasting and reflection.
In a statement issued by the White House, the president said, "Times like this remind us of the lesson of all great faiths, including Islam that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us."
He also said he will be hosting an iftar dinner at the White House, an event he hosted last year as well.

| Re: President Obama marks Ramadan | | I have read that during this month, Christians out of the love of their heart can reach muslims as they seek God. We should all spend time in prayer for muslims and our president as well. He may or may not be muslim, doesn't really matter since he needs our prayers regardless of our thoughts about him. _________________ Bryan Reed

| Re: | | Amen brother. Though I would wish he would speak with a converted Moslem who has seen the light of Christ. Our President would be in for a shocker. Converted Moslems called MBB's, Moslem background believers, do not understand why American's want to become Moslem. They have seen the oppression of Islam and experienced the glorious freedom of Jesus. Something the President has not seen.
I also wish the President would see what his great faith is doing to my brothers and sisters around the world. But then I do not think Mr. Obama reads the Voice of the Martyrs magazine. For that matter he probably does not read the human rights report isued by the U. S. Dept. of State. He probably does read the Koran. |

| Re: | | really? were eating as much as we can? Does the fact that muslims fast make God take notice? I hope my good works will then indeed make a difference. Just kidding, I realize that we do get complacient and lazy. Im guilty of that my self to a very large degree. I can only speak for myself, I know I don't pray enough or fast. I feel like God has left us and I don't want to pray anymore or fast. It's so depressing all arouind and our country "u.s.a." is falling apart morally and spiritually. I hope the answer doesnt lie in the fact were not praying hard enough or fasting enough... but actually just humblimg ourselves and knowing God needs to intervene on our behalf. May we see something happen, evangelicals repenting, muslims repenting, Obama repenting, congress repenting..it would be a good day. _________________ howard

Was this comment really necessary? On what evidence do you base such a claim? Are you really connecting Mr Obama to the killing of martyrs, whose title you use as your screen name? What makes you think that he's a muslim? His name? His skin color? This is so typical.
If comments such as yours are indicative of Christianity, you can keep it to yourself. |

| Re: | | I think that this president needs prayer. I don't know where he stands with the Lord but I know that we who profess the name of Jesus as Lord are instructed to pray for our leaders so that is what I do.
God Bless mary |

I believe he was saying that Obama MIGHT think twice about Islam if he knew the horrors that Muslims put Christians through in their countries. While I don't believe Mr. Obama is of any religious party (except perhaps the religion of greed) there are a few things that would point to him being a Muslim. This particular holiday being observed is one. (Why didn't/doesn't he observe lent also? Could it be he prefers Islam? Hmmmm.) He reads the Quran in Arabic and speaks Arabic. I have seen him recite pieces of the Quran in Arabic on NATIONAL TV. That doesn't necessarily make him Muslim, but it is suspicious. Why memorize the Quran unless your going to follow it?
Redflad said: "This is so typical." Typical of whom? Typical of right-winged, Republican nutcases who CALL themselves Christians but who are not? We must remember, statistically 80% of people who call themselves Christians are not. They are unconverted church members.
Redflag said: "If comments such as yours are indicative of Christianity, you can keep it to yourself." Firstly, you read too much into martyr's comment, I believe. Secondly, ditto. You have just proven yourself to be a hypocrite. Your comment was much harsher than martyrs and yet you have the gall to tell him to keep it to himself? Woe unto you!
I agree with martyr. His eyes need to be opened. But only God can do that. So with MaryJane I say, PRAY FOR HIM! _________________ Veronica

| Re: | | The evidence has been clear for a long time that Barrak Obama is pro muslim and anti christian.
However lets just take his quote about "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Well then islam wants to enslave the whole world.
Islam condems anyone who converts from islam to christianity.
Islam outlaws christians everywhere being able to share the gospel openly.
If thats your do unto others Mr obama then you can keep "that" religion to yourself.
These and many more are facts proven over and over for the whole world to see, except those who are blind. |
