| "Behold; Your house is left unto you DESOLATE!"|
Sometimes Wrath and Chastisement kiss, as in the days of Jeremiah. God Himself brought about the Lamentations of Jerusalem, not the Devil. There came a time that the Rebellious house was weighed in the balance, and found wanting.
This, after innumerable stretching forth of Mercies from God,..through Jeremiah..over and over. Today, the visible church seems to want..with dead religious duties, the sensual emergent church, the ecumenical emergent church, Babylonian prayer moves, extreme grace doctrines that kill,and a general doctrine formed in Narcissism that God exists for our blessing.
Most who speak against it are marginalized, or suffer Character assassination, and God help you if you get specific. This does not deter God's justice...in any way. There are times when the Rebuke of God must be direct, and severe, so all may see His anger, to see that He must be feared. God Judges.
The desolation that Jesus prophesied would occur happened in post New Testament times, in AD 70, when the Roman TITUS salted Jerusalem, crucified thousands and thousands of citizens, and annihilated or enslaved the rest. This happened because of the hardness of heart in the face of the God-Man Messiah Jesus, as He pleaded with them to repent. They refused.
MATTHEW: 34. "Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35. That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38. Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Do we really want Jesus, and all that he Has?...Are we willing to lose our life fully and completely to gain His?
Some will be, others will be told that He never knew Him. We are coming under Judgment.

Brother Tom I have found this to be so true in my own life. It took me a while to believe it though because the church is obsessed with "mercy & grace" only teaching. To say that the Lord gets angry with his children or they come under His judgement is to almost speak like a heretic in today's church--big church or home groups. This has happened 3 seperate times in my life. In spite of my love for the Lord and my seeking His face so much, I still had an obedience and a fear of obedience problem in my life. The Lord has some much mercy and grace to me, but He has also taken increasingly severe measures with me. And this last time I felt like He has taken a rod and just beaten me with it. The Lord has withdrawn the spirit of joy from my life and also the close intimate fellowship I once had with Him. He wasn't willing to put up with my habitual sin pattern anymore which had gone on for over 25 years. And I'm talking about something more than just internet porn.
But, in spite of how painful it has been, and yes I have wanted to die many times, I still believe in His mercy and grace because I have found it to be never ending. Will the Lord restore? I don't know. That is the big question. Will the Lord restore America? I don't know. That is a big question. Will He delay His judgment or with hold some of His judgment? I don't know. He is the Lord and works all things according to His will. I do know the U.S. is way overdue for judgment. The really extreme sin is the killing of 50 million children. We have lost a lot of our freedoms. Soon I think we will lose our finances.
BTW, do you think Isaiah 18 is a prophetic word about America?

In one sense America is under God's judgment already. Read the last part of Romans 1 and you see what I mean. I would love to see revival but I wonder if we are passed the point of no return. God's righteous judgment could be a calamity. But it may be God rejects us because we reject him.

I suggest we hop over here and do this: http://whoarethejoneses.org/ Enter your yearly salary and it will show you how you compare to the rest of the world. So I figured my dad's salary is about $13,000 a year. Which makes us RICHER than 80% of the world!! Even with my piddly little part time job of just over 6,000 a year I am richer than 71% of the world. The average income in America is about $40,000 which means most Americans are richer than 85% of the world. You know the saying, 20% of the people have 80% of the wealth and the other 80% get 20%? Well that's America. "Average" Americans are in the top 15% of the world. But people don't see it that way. We actually have a family in our church who claims they are "poor" and they just don't know whether to get rid of internet or cable or phone or cell phones because they NEED them all. Since when does anyone NEED cable TV? Unless your unregenerate and trying to fill the God shaped hole in your heart. Like someone else said, yesterday's luxuries are today's necessities.

"BTW, do you think Isaiah 18 is a prophetic word about America?".......ENDZONE.
I too have been disciplined severely in my walk, and remember this:
"And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: ...Hebrews 12;
"My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?"
15 For He says to Moses, I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION.
16 "So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy."....
Severe Chastening is a sign of God loving a man or woman. This Satanic, selfish nature that we all possess runs so deep...beyond even our will to perform...and yes....death, crucifixion of a man is God's way.
2 Corinthians 1:8........... "For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life."
9 "Yes", ......we had the sentence of death in ourselves, .....that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,
10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us."..........
America is under judgment, and yes, perhaps the most severe sin is the murder of our own babies...50 million of them...at the alter of our own selfish lust. Innocent blood MUST be avenged...always.
I think that 2 for 1 will come upon us, as I stated in my ideas about the vision that God gave me.
As far as Isaiah 18? There was never a major kingdom past Ethiopia that I could find...and America is west of it. Maybe is all I can guess.
Thank-you for your post...It was real and graceful.
