Hi UntoBabesThanks. I hadn't previously heard of Samuel Zwemer, but his name has cropped up more than once recently. Whilst salvation is ultimately a work of the Holy Spirit I am interested in knowing what methods Samuel Zwemer employed. I'll have to pray about reading more of this man. I live in UK which has an large muslim population, particularly where I live. I think a good testimony cuts through a lot of intellectual debate that Muslims are often keen to engage in.http://www.soulwars.net/islam.htmlGod BlessJames
Sorry, managed to post twice
Hello Jimmy,I actually had to change the title of this post from " Islamic Evangalism" to " Evangalizing Muslims " because it was conveying the wrong massage.I didn't know about Samuel Zwemer either until very recently. I saw a quote that I liked very much in someone signature here on SI ( signatures are my favorite thing to read ), So I looked him up. I think it is the same person, I hope. That is how I learned about him. Zwemer learned the Arabic laguage and studied the culture. He found that some of the Muslims were searching for God on a higher level than what their religion had to offer. For example: He had written a book by the title " A moslem Seeker After God" about a character that lived in the 11th century, a muslim theologian by the name Al Ghazali. who came so close to the kingdom of Heaven but not close enough. Such is the case with many muslims and it is the church's fault.I was actually shocked to read a quote by a muslim mystic author who lived in the 14th century that showed that he had knowledge of the Christian faith more than many Christians I know.you can read it on "Great Quotes 12" https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=38067&forum=35&263This is the link to the mentioned book about Al Ghazali, one of Zwemer's many works.http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/9723163?access_key=key-1lr0zvn60koflsx4nr4wBut you must understand, there is no easy cuts to this kind of work. Just as Zwemer gave his life for it,,so must anyone who assumes this task do the same. Hope this helps, my borther. It takes to know God and His heart. the rest is easy because it will be done by His power.
Great link Jimmy. This is a link to a true story that was made into a movie. There are many similar accounts that reveal the Lord Jesus is at work among the Muslims. http://youtu.be/A3j9EDqFBS0
