A very encouraging interview of Rick Warren by Pastor John Piper. Watch as Bro. John uses passages from the "Purpose Driven Life" book to dig into Bro. Rick's mind and heart on doctrinal matters. http://www.desiringgod.org/blog/posts/john-piper-interviews-rick-warren-on-doctrine
I think you are being misled brother. Piper is getting sucked into Warren mania and not willing to stand up against this ecumenist or his one religion agenda.Piper is no longer to be trusted.
Warren's answers during this interview were probably more encouraging than much of what he has put out. However, does it reflect reality? Is it true? Warren lied on Larry King about his connection with Proposition 8. Why do we think he would not do this on other subjects, like those given in the video? I am not trying to take him down, but since he is a high-profile preacher, we should beware of him if he has tampered with the truth in the past.
hi, as soon as i am perfect i will judge harshly all those who are not.jimp
Brethren,It seems like Pastor John Piper was at a low point in his ministry and being discourage somewhat he decided to reach out in an encouraging what to someone he had disagreed with doctrinally. I will tell you anyone of us are subject to discouragement if we are not continually filled with the Holy Spirit. The sad thing about many in the Calvinist religion is that they lack the power of the baptism in the Holy Ghost because they don't believe in it the way the Apostles did and also preached it.Blessings to all!
i think you will find that john piper believed in all the gifts off the holy spirit unlike spurgen and jonathan edwared who were great calvinistsbut if you look in the the revivles of edwards and whitfield ,,,,what people experanced was a revivle in the baptisim of the holy spirit ,,same with weasly ,these wer mighty oses of the spirit ,that left people flat on the growned in some cases but many of the calvivnistic churches do lack the baptisim ,as do many arminian
If a man is known to be backing something ungodly, why would anyone want to follow him? The sad part is, as you said, Warren being "a high-profile preacher." There are many who are unaware of what the Bible teaches and are easily led down the wrong path.
