I would like to know if listening to ole time rock and roll is a sin. Is listening to your radio with rock music playing on it a sin?

If you sow to the flesh, you'll reap from your flesh.

If you use that time to sow to the spirit, you'll reap from The Spirit.

In these days - we need as much wisdom from Him as we can get.

Behold the days are evil. There isn't much more time to be built up for the evil to come.

Be wise as a serpent, but as harmless as a dove.

Redeem the time. "Occupy until I come", He said.

To me, it is a sin. Why? Because they sing about drugs and all types of sin. But, all of the Christians I know listens to it. I do not know any bible verses against it. It just doesn't seem to fit to me. How can you love Jesus with all your heart and soul and still listen to such? Christians watch such filth on their television sets, are they still saved? Does the sin bother them? I see it every where, in most all of the Christians I know. How can they be born again and still listen and watch such things? Are they really Christians or being deceived?

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

No, Rock isnt more sin then any other music style.
listen to what ever music on radio. its all about sin.

everything not of God is wicked and depraved.
If music is played by brothers in christ then why attack it?
as long as they are god centered.

I think it would depend largely on the lyrics and their meaning. Not all rock music is the same, and not all that is played on rock stations or called rock is rock. I mean, there is Black Sabbath and Metallica, and then there is Elvis singing "Don't Be Cruel". See the diff? One must ask, what is the message and is it a carnal theme or mindset. A great deal of rock music is indeed carnal and should not be part of your life. This is where good judgement and discernment come in. Ask yourself, 'If Jesus were with me, would HE want to listen to this?'
