 How To Maintain Deliverance

I am going to post a thread on Possessing the Land and will draw from Joshua (a type of Jesus) and other OT and NT verses. But, I would like to jump ahead and post "How to Maintain Deliverance".

The enemy has come into the land through deception and force. The key is breaking the work of deception and resisting every work of the enemy. Maintaining deliverance means walking in the truth and resisting the enemy.

I. Stand Daily on the Word
1. Take your place in Christ as dead to sin (Romans 6:11)
2. Hide within the Word (Psalm 91)
3. Stand upon the promises (Eph 6:17)

Here are some verses with truths in them that you should appropriate by faith for YOURSELF.

1. Fear -
in circumstancess (Isa 43:1-2)
of man or enemy (Isa 51:12-16)
of failure (II Tim 1:7; II Cor 2:14)

2. Healing of Hurts
Jer 30:17
Isa 43:18-19
Isa 61:3

3. Rejection
Isa 53:3
Isa 54:4
Jer 30:17
Eph 1:6

4. Accusation and condemnation
Rom 8:1, 33, 34
Rev 12:10-11

5. Passivity
Luke 4:18
1 Pet 1:13
Mark 11:23

Allow truth to drive out all deception.
The truth shall set you free. John 8:32

The Truth of God will drive out:
1) Deception about yourself
2) Deception about God
3) Deception about others

II. Resist the Enemy -
Resisting the enemy is the responsibility of each individual member of the Body of Christ. People can become so passive that they don't resist at all.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

1. Resist him on the ground of the blood of Jesus (Rev 12:11)
- Confess your victory and deliverance through Jesus' blood.

2. Claim your authority over Satan by virtue of your position in Christ.
-Eph 1:20-21; 2:6; Col 2:13-15; Luke 10:17; Matt 28:18

Command Satan to depart in Jesus' Name.

3. Use the Shield of Faith and the Sword of the Spirit in the hour of temptation.
-Eph 6:16; I Pet 5:9; Matt 4:4, 7, 10

4. Put on the whole armor of God (Eph 6:10-18)
-Girdle of God's truth enables us to move in battle
-Breastplate of God's righteousness covers from accusations of the enemy
-Shoes of God's peace releases all conflict within
-Helmet of God's salvation renews our mind

Bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. You control your thoughts and bring them into subjection to the mind of Christ which you have. II Cor 10:5

III. WALK IN FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD -
This is the key to being free. You need to be God-centered.

1. Submit yourself to God
The other side of James 4:7

a. The fellowship of obedience
b. The fellowship of waiting (1 Pet 5:6)

2. Walk in the Spirit (where the victory is)
a. The desires of the flesh will not be carried out.
Gal 5:16
b. By the Spirit, the desires of the flesh are put to death. (Romans 8:13)

3. Keep your mind on things above (Col 3:1-3)

4. Walk in His Light (1 John 1:7)
a. There is fellowship in the Light
b. There is cleansing in the Light

The Full redemption of the Cross is yours! Active faith appropriates this in every part of our living. You are directly a part of the God's work in you. Respond with faith and resist the enemy.

The Devil will harass you through your mind. You do just as well or better to ignore the Devil and place your mind upon the Word and the Spirit. Don't be constantly rebuking the Devil - or giving him any attention. Be led of the Spirit and only do as the Lord leads.

Bless you as you walk with the Lord and possess all the land that God has given you in Christ Jesus.

 Re: How To Maintain Deliverance

I'd like to give some excellent teachings by a very strong couple in Christ that I've known for some time.

"The Nature and Tactics of Satan"
http://www.crossroad.to/charts/sin&satan.html

"The Armor of GOD"
http://www.crossroad.to/text/articles/armorofgod.html

In this second link - you'll find many links on top of the page on this topic and within the article itself.

Have you ever noticed when a person first gets saved - the Joy that is on them and them testifying that they feel a difference had come into their lives and it's apparent -- but then, with some, they lose that joy and become very troubled?

What happened is that, they were fed a lie and bought/believed the lie(s) that are against His Word. Anything that is against His Word is a lie, which can come from the voice of Satan, self or men.
A lie against themselves from outside - a lie against what GOD has said in His Word or a lie that they've told themselves.
Sin is also one of those lies. That's why He said: "The Truth shall set you free" and "You are free by the words that I have spoken onto you." Only GOD's True Truth sets any of us free from lies. He 'is' The Truth. He 'is' The Word of GOD. The Great Shepherd of His Sheep. Bless GOD!

Col 2:10 And ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power:

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Col 2:12 Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of GOD, who hath raised Him from the dead.

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;

Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

GOD Bless His Word. Amen!
John 16:13-14
