DAILY LIGHT - DECEMBER 15 MORNING

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who ... took upon him the form of a servant. - Even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. - He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

When Jesus ... saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled. - Jesus wept. - Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: not rendering evil for evil or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

GAL. 6:2. Phi. 2:4,5,7. Mark 10:45. II Cor. 5:15. John 11:33. -John 11:35. Rom. 12:15. I Pet. 3:8,9.

DAILY DEVOTIONS FROM THE DAILY LIGHT

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.--Gal. 6:2

"If you must needs impose burdens on yourselves, let them be the burdens of mutual sympathy. If you must needs observe a law, let it be the law of Christ" (Bishop Lightfoot). "These are the burdens I would have you bear--not the vexatious ritual of the law, but your neighbor's errors and weakness, his sorrow and sufferings" (Ibid). Cultivate a tender sense of brotherhood. We who are joined to the Lord are members of one another. We cannot have the mind of Christ and be indifferent to the sufferings and difficulties of others. "Look not every man on his own things, but man also every man on to the things of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 2:4, 5). The Lord Jesus came to be God's faithful servant. He "came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). This is to be manifested in our prayers, and in our efforTs. In intercessory prayer, we should seek to identify ourselves with others in their difficulty.
