The dove that Noah sent out from the arc never returned to the arc. It found a resting place. So too, God has found His final resting place...His Church, His people. Jesus Christ is risen and He lives, in all His Fullness, in His people. IT IS FINISHED!

Your post reminded me of the following...

For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
(Psalm 132:13-14)

Zion is a type of the Church (see Hebrews 12:22), His desire is for this.

I'm sorry to say that I have often come before God in prayer with only my desires in mind. But here, God has condescended to express the desire of His heart to sinful man; and it is for a resting place, an eternal habitation. Amazing! Let His desire be the motivation of our prayer and our lives as living stones in His eternal Temple.
