| Your Top 3 Books Written in the Last Ten Years | | I'm a bookworm and becoming more of a voracious reader all the time. I've benefited greatly from SI book reccomendations; however, I find myself in a dilemma. I can't think of any books that written in the last ten years that would make my top ten list. In fact, I don't know how many books written in the last ten years I've actually read since I was converted and born again (four years ago). I don't want to bash modern Christian publishing, I believe the Holy Spirit is still inspiring men to write with prophetic urgency to this generation, so I ask for your top three (or more) recommendations of books published in the last ten years. The only two I can think of right off the top of my head are:
Which None Can Shut by Reema Goode (published last month) Reflecting His Image by K.P. Yohannan (2003)

Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala. (I think it's in the last ten years?)
Jesus Freaks vol 1 & 2. I forget who the author is.

| Re: | | Thanks!
I've been meaning to get around to reading Francis Chan and Fresh Wind Fresh Fire. The Jesus Freaks Volumes are written by Voice of the Martyrs and I've read a couple of books from them and other materials.
I didn't know Art Katz's work was so recent. I'll have to look at Apostolic Foundations. It'll be on my list. _________________ Jonathan

| Re: | | 1. Radical, Platt 2. When God Weeps, Erickson-Tada 3. Cross Centered Life, Mahanney Bonus and very new: What is the Gospel?, Greg Gilbert (fantastic, simple and very helpful for those who fumble at evangelizing like me )
These are "simple" books but almost function like devotionals that you can read and re-read to keep the plain things the main things. I am a vorational consumer of books by mostly dead authors yet these simple recently written works do the most transformative job for me.

| Re: | | 1. Green Leaf in Drought, by Isobel Kuhn 2. The Story of Job, by Jessie Penn-Lewis 3. The Great Falling Away, Today by Milton Green
These are older than 10 years. But they are the top ones I have read in the last 10. Sorry about that,

| Re: | | I have actually found a number of recent books to be well-worth the read:
-Signs of the Spirit by Sam Storms -Fifty Reasons Jesus Came to Die by John Piper -Brothers, We Are Not Professionals by John Piper -Justification and Regeneration by Charles Leiter -Trials of Theology by Cameron and Rosner -Why We're Not Emergent by Two Guys Who Should Be by DeYoung and Kluck -Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas
These are within 15 yrs:
-When People are Big and God is Small by Ed Welch -True for You but not for Me by Paul Copan -Deeper Experiences of Famous Christians by James Lawson
I probably have 10-15 more on my wish list too. _________________ Paul
