How do you know God is pleased with you?
How saith your conscience?
Do you hate anyone?, is there envy, strife, bitterness etc..?
Have you spoken ill towards your nieghbour in whom we are commanded to love?
These have nothing to do with being in right standing before God, but the question is not about our salvation, the question is how do you know if God is pleased with you?
If your conscience is clear, I'd say He's pretty pleased with you. |

| Re: How do you know God is pleased with you? | | The best way to know if God is pleased with you is to read the verses in the gospels that weigh your heart and challenge you to walk in the commands of Jesus Christ. Chapters 5,6 and 7 of Matthews gospel, together with chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation, are probably the best to weigh your heart and to show you if you are pleasing to God.

| Re: How do you know God is pleased with you? | | i know he is pleased when....
1 . I seek his word and commandments diligently and obey them and teach others to do also. (He know i love him because i obey him)
2. when i believe every word he speaks whether its rational to me or not. (I believe that he is and his word is)
3. When i have a humble and contrite heart. (I recognize the work the blood of jesus has done for me and others regardless of what things seem like)
4. when he asks the devil "have you considered my servant rainman" (All hell seems like its breaking lose)
5. When i love the lord and hate every evil and perverse way of this world.
6.When i search for and minister to his lost sheep. (Havent done much of that lately i wouldnt know which church to send them to)
7. When i sow my best 24 hour miracle seed and in 24 hrs i receive a £24,000 harvest (okay maybe not)

| Re: Re: How do you know God is pleased with you? | | At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. John 14:20
How do you know?
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me SHALL BE LOVED of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21
For the Father Himself loveth you, BECAUSE ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God. John 16:27
The Lord tells us how to be loved by He and His Father.
Jesus answered and said unto him, IF, IF, IF a man love me, HE WILL, WILL, WILL keep my words: and my Father WILL LOVE HIM, and WE WILL come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23
He that hath my commandments, and KEEPETH THEM, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me SHALL BE loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21

| Re: | | OH MAN- THAT'S FLESH
we are a keeper of His commands because He now dwells in us. God found a LEGAL way to dwell in an earthly sinful vessel.
Make no mistake- you cannot keep anything on your own. It is impossible in and of yourselves.
please don't let people tell you that you are now able to keep the law since you are Saved. That's what got many in trouble in the epistles. Setting yourself up for failure is what that is.
Once you figure out that you cannot keep law, then what? You be discouraged and give up the Faith? Because let me tell you, many are in that boat right now and have no clue why. |

| Re: | | knitefall,
Not too clear who you are speaking about. But, I agree. We are not to try to keep the letter of the law. Cannot be done. The Spirit replaced the Law for Believers and now we serve in newness of spirit. We walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh. His law has been written in our hearts. Jer 31:33, Heb 8:10, Heb 10:16
Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; hat we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
The law is alive and will not die, so we had to die so that we could be free to marry another and now walk in newness of life and serve in newness of spirit.
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with Him in baptism into death: THAT like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we ALSO should walk in newness of life.
We not the law are the dying party. This death dissolves our "marriage" obligation to the law leaving us at liberty to contract a new relationship, to be joined to the Risen Lord, for spiritual fruitfulness.
Many expositors say the law died, but that is not what the Word is saying.
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to Him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
With all of that said, I hope you agree that we now have a WALK to walk. In other words, we are to WALK according to the Spirit and not according to the Flesh. It is not automatic, but must be purposeful and cannot be done apart from Christ, without abiding in Him.
Gal 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
And Eph 2:2, Col 3:7, 1 Pet 4:3 and
1 Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
There is a walk now that we must walk. It is called the Walk of Sanctification. Be ye holy for I am holy.
It's not enough that 25 years ago we walked the aisle and got our ticket punched. Is our faith active and real? How are we today, 25 years later?
Not a popular topic to bring up these days.

According to the scriptures, there is only One Man that God is pleased with, that is Christ - "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased."
If you are in Christ than God is pleased with you just as He is pleased with Christ. If you are not in Christ then you remain an enemy of God.
If you are in Christ, then the Spirit of Christ is in you and you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. (Romans 8:9)
If the pleasure of God toward you was based upon your love for other people, then you would be seeking His pleasure according to the works of the law; all the law is summed up in these two commandments - Love God with all that is in you and love your neighbor as yourself.
The righteousness we lack, cannot come by way of the law but only by faith in Christ.
Look to Christ, God is pleased with Him.
Absolutely right! The scriptures I quoted have to do with the evidence of our love for Him, but Mahoney addresses the exact title of this thread better. "How do you know if God is pleased with you"? Apart from Christ, He is not pleased. He is only pleased with His Son. We must be in Him.
Look to Him continually. The simplicity of Christ. |

I would suggest, by the sweetness of fellowship you have with Him privately.

This may indeed be summed up in the two commandments you've listed, but Jesus added one to that in John 15: 'Love one another'.
Further, John expounds in detail in his first epistle:
1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 3:12 Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not [his] brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1 John 4: 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. 1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
It seems plain that we MUST love one another. This is not a work of the law, but of the grace which changes us from having our own (self-)righteousness, to having the righteousness of Christ. It forces us to relinquish all our reasonings, and concentrate on living THROUGH HIM, having no other agenda than His. I'm speaking to myself here.
John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
Hebrews 13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
KNOWING that God is 'pleased' seems to work on a loop which starts with our obedience to Him, ratified by the continuing supply of His Spirit as we share His life with others.
Philippians 1: '... Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20 According to my earnest expectation and [my] hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but [that] with all boldness, as always, [so] now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether [it be] by life, or by death. 21 For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.

| Re: | | If we are IN HIM, He is pleased with us.
Take some time to study what "IN HIM" means. Here are a few verses to give you a headstart. IN HIM is where you want to be. This is the true work of God in your life.
1Jn 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: HEREBY KNOW WE THAT WE ARE IN HIM.
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye IN HIM:
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up IN HIM, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth IN HIM, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. |

AMEN! and it is a life-long process. One that requires a daily dying to self so the Holy Spirit can live and operate through us, using our bodies to His honor and glory!
