 Re:

2Peter 1:8 For these things being in you, and abounding, they will make you not idle, not unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
:9 For the one in whom these things are not present is blind, being shortsighted, taking on forgetfulness of the cleansing of his sins in time past.
:10 Therefore rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

 Re: Ps 119:165

It strikes me that being not offended

springs from being able to see beyond the natural, to the spiritual

understanding that the sin of Adam messed up every human who is born

of whom we encounter some.

Therefore, James could write in 2:8

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

 Re:

I remember Dr Vance Havner saying that we won't be judged by the sins we've committed, but by the Light we chose not to walk in. The brother of Jesus & the Apostle James thus saying, "Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do & doesn't do it, to him it is sin." - James 4:17
