| Willing to assosiate with people of low position... | | Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. - Romans 12:16
All of us (rich or poor) are made in Gods likeness and we are equal in his eyes inspite of the colour, caste or whatever. No one can go one step closer to the Lord because of his/her riches.
Money is God given.. and it is nothing to be proud about. He will take it back from you if you are not willing to use it for Gods glory
Gods word says do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position. How many of us are willing to do that
????
We can even see the so called followers of Lord Jesus Christ making faces when a person with poor status comes and sits next to them
.. This shows how proud they are
!!!
Now the latest trend is that in most of the churches we can see people wiping the glass or using separate glasses for the wine. This happens only because we are not ready to associate with the people of low position
. Everybody wants to consider them superior to the other and hates to drink from the same glass.
This is against Gods will...
Gods word says Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to Godthis is your spiritual act of worship
All glory to god
.. Amen.

| Re: Willing to assosiate with people of low position... | | Good article and much to think about.
I don't want to make light of the article, there is nothing funny about it.
But, personally, whether a person is of high or low degree, I just would not want to drink after any one. Using the same glass that is. Whether or not they wipe the glass or not.
It would not be a hygenic practice. I don't think it is anyway.
But, I don't want to take away from your thoughts.
God bless. |

| Re: | | It's not an issue really.
If I were sick, and went to church, I would not partake. I would just be passing my sickness on to others, and I would feel bad about that.
As it is, we use individual cups at church, so, it's not something I need to consider if I were sick. |

Mat 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
Mar 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave [it] to them: and they all drank of it.
Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. |

| Re: | | hmmm... i feel its not mentioned in the bible that there was only one cup.. but that was how our forefathers did. And it was because of the love they had with each other... They had such kind of bonding between them that they dint even think about the health part... now everybody thinks about themselves first and then others... Am not saying that using separate glasses is wrong... But am saying the love, the bonding between the believers is no more... If there was.. these kind of separation would not have come up... Sorry.. if am hurting anyone... _________________ Ancy Royce

People watch too many movies.
Whether there was one cup or many, I applaud that the question was asked. Staking practice on assumption or tradition is the root of many dangers.
As far as Jesus taking "the cup", plenty of usage indicates this could refer simply to his cup. The definite article (the) does not have the strength in Greek as it does in English, an is often omitted in translation to English throughout the New Testament. Finally, it does not say "the only cup". Nothing in the Passover practice prescribed a single cup for all participants. |

| Re: | | Hi friend, "The cup" means that there is only one cup. If you say that the bible should mention each and everything like "the only cup" then why it is not said "the only bible????" :) If you dont like to use the same cup, then dont use...
