 Evening Reflections - JUNE 24

Broken Bread

Daily Devotions from the Daily Light
by Evan Hopkins

June 24

The ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them . . . to search out a resting place for them.--Num. 10:33

After we are brought to know the blessings of deliverance, we are then ready to learn the secret of guidance. How wonderful is the sight here presented to us! Instead of Israel seeking to find a resting place for God, it is God who would find a resting place for them. Shelter and guidance were here provided for His redeemed people. "The cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp." They were thus protected from the scorching rays of the midday sun. And "the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them," in order to show them the path of His will. They were not left to choose their own way, or to use their own wisdom in discovering God's way. The symbol of the divine Presence preceded them. They had to but follow. And so it is with all God's children today. He who died to redeem, now lives to lead and direct. He seeks for us continually not merely in places of safety, but of "rest." He is concerned about His people, and delights in their comfort and joy.

Re: Evening Reflections - JUNE 24

Amen,
OUR LORD LEADS HIS CHILDREN ONE STEP AT A TIME.
HE WILL LEAD US AND GUIDE US WITH HIS EYE. Psa 32:8

And I love this verse in Isaiah 30:21 which says,
"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."

All we have to do is to dwell in HIS PRESENCE.
And make sure we are ON THE LORD'S SIDE.
