The Timelessness of God by Major Ian Thomas

I have been quite blown away by this audio sermon! He covers alot of material and principles in this short sermon and there is much mining for me still to do. I have heard it 2 times and need to listen to it again. I encourage you to hear it and leave your comments of what stuck out to you the most?

Description: The Major shares powerfully the timeless character of God and how it effects our concept and understand and knowing of God in our lifes. He touches on many principles that will make you re-think what you have accepted as true.

Re: The Timelessness of God by Major Ian Thomas

“Remember the former things of old: for I AM God, and there is none else; I AM God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure …yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Isaiah 46:9-11

Two things, each of which was foretold centuries before, are about to happen.

1. Shortly, a pregnant girl living in Nazareth is to give birth. “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

2. The baby is going to be born in Bethlehem. “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2

Problem: How to get the baby from Nazareth to Bethlehem on time.

Solution: Put an ad in the “Help wanted” section of the Cosmic Sentinal

One day, Caesar Augustus woke up. stretched. yawned and said, “Ho hum. I think I’ll tax the world today.”

“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.” Luke 2:1-6
