Hey guys alot of the youth in my church are reading John Ortberg and Donald Miller books, and i was just wondering if my friends here on sermonindex know if these guys are good for young people to read. Are they biblically sound? Thanks for any comments.
Donald Miller, as I understand it, has been influenced by the likes of men like Marcus Borg, whom was/is attached to the Jesus Seminar, and those kinds of reasoning. This earthly wisdom nearly annihilated my faith when I was in High School, the onus of almost all the reasoning is based in the idea of "hath God really said?" The thought of High School students reading it grieves my soul for the terror they may have to overcome to recover genuine faith. Poison wrapped in a glossy package.
