 Consider this

Consider this: Since the world is ruled by God’s enemy, then we must bear in mind that its primary function is to undo the work of God in our hearts. Therefore, as we seek to RESIST the enemy, we must also work hard to RESIST the subtle and not-so-subtle attempts of the world around us to draw us after itself. RESIST the sights and sounds that work on our emotions. RESIST the attractiveness of entertainment and self-gratification. RESIST the temptation to justify the things we WANT based on what we see others doing or having. Let’s sow HEAVILY to please the Spirit, not ourselves. The mind, emotions, and life controlled by the Spirit is LIFE and PEACE!! —bb

This devotional sums up so well what is on my heart just now. Forgive me Lord Jesus. I turned away from You and chased after things of this world and the approval of men. Forgive me for seeking to please my flesh instead of desiring to please You my Lord!! Father is opening my eyes and heart to see just how far from Him I have strayed, some how I allowed self to be lured off the narrow path and I have sinned against my beloved Jesus. Please Lord as painful as this is right now, please don't take away this feeling of conviction, please do not let my heart be hardened to You, and please don't let me care one little bit about what others will think of me. Help me Lord to repent, to truly repent!!

 Re: Consider this

There are two realms; and they are always
in conflict with one other. This world
is temporal; and its interests, principles,
and values are opposed to the interests,
purposes, and values of GOD'S kingdom!!

I have to disagree with this first statement.

But I agree with the rest of your post.

Daniel 4:32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High RULETH in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psalms 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Psalms 89:11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Psalms 65:9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

Psalms 65:10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

Psalms 65:11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

Psalms 65:12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

Psalms 65:13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
