Does anyone know if there are handheld digital Bibles?

I am thinking about getting a handheld digital Bible. I think it would be good for witnessing and being able to look up some passages since it is hard to memorize them all.

I know I have seen some people have hymnals or I think maybe Esword on their cell phone by maybe putting a certain card in their phone or having the right phone.

Does anyone know of ways to do it and which are the best. Something with a good search engine and readable ect.

Maybe an Iphone, Blackberry, Palm phone, or a palm organizer or something?

It would also have to have good battery life and other things like that.

I believe you can get applications for all those. A college prof of mine in Bible college used to have one on his palm almost 5 years ago. So, if he had his 5 years ago, I imagine all of them have the ability to get such a program.

Hmm.. thanks. I think your right it's probably been around for a long time. I guess maybe I should get something with the biggest screen, biggest keyboard, best battery life, and hopefully enough storage to put a whole Bible software on there with search engine. Maybe it would be good to put apologetic things on their too like the Koran or evidential things. Hmm, still though if anyone knows which device might be best let me know. I have a Blackberry bold, but the screen is kind of small and not sure of the storage size and the battery is kind of short. I also wouldn't get an Iphone. So, maybe I should maybe use the Blackberry for now or look for some palm pilot organizer that is used solely for that and not for phone and what not.

Hi Brother Anonymity,

I'm looking at this one myself.

Both the NIV and KJV versions. ;-) I hope this helps you out.

Oh wow that's pretty nice. So, it's not even just an organizer, but solely a Bible. Hmm. Thanks. It even looks like a Bible. I think it has a search engine too. If you get it let me know what you think like for instance what the battery life is like. I might settle for something like this. But, maybe there is something that will allow you to add apologetic things and a live web connection could be good too, but I might not need that necessarily.

I'd say get a device like a windows-based smartphone or blackberry or something and use Laridian software. I use it and it's great. So many works you can supplement with the Word, there is cross-referencing, just browase around at all the features and works:

http://laridian.com/

Also this would be worth getting. 122 works, all interconnected with searches, strongs numbers, dictionaries, concordances, the works for $25:

And lastly they have some decent free software here, though I don't like the interface that much:

You get all 3 of these and you're really cruising.

 Re:

myself have a mobile phone with windows mobile, and i use pocket e-sword, i find it very good, you have all good resources in your pocket, strongs, tsk, dictionarys other concordances etc etc, 30 different versions, multiple languages, of the bible, and if you have some skills you can pretty much make any document into a e-nook and read it on your phone, great for text sermons and so on. i find it great. Its also free, there are other apps out there but you would have to pay.

Its great when for example when you are on the buss and maybe meditating on something and wondering about a word, you can just get your phone and a few clicks away you have a huge resource that otherwise would take a smaller suitcase filled with books :-D

anyhow, pm me if you would like to know more.
