 Re: A video of revivals in the UK and America.

Amen sister,

What a blessing to hear the stories of how God came down and glorified Himself. I was struck by one particular story. The man was talking about emotionalism and how it was felt in the Welsh Revival of 1859. It had two pillars, one was weeping. Every time the Spirit of God moved there was weeping. The second was praise. He described the moment when and an elder was talking about the glory of God. A young woman stood up and , with a loud voice cried out "Amen, blessed be His name forever!" And this released into that congregation such a Spirit of praise. What a blessing. "Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more."

Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer
Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven,
Feed me till I want no more;
Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield;
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

Lord, I trust Thy mighty power,
Wondrous are Thy works of old;
Thou deliver’st Thine from thralldom,
Who for naught themselves had sold:
Thou didst conquer, Thou didst conquer,
Sin, and Satan and the grave,
Sin, and Satan and the grave.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of deaths, and hell’s destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to Thee;
I will ever give to Thee.

Musing on my habitation,
Musing on my heav’nly home,
Fills my soul with holy longings:
Come, my Jesus, quickly come;
Vanity is all I see;
Lord, I long to be with Thee!
Lord, I long to be with Thee!

 Re:

It adds much depth to read about the history of revivals, as well as what happened through them. It's a shame about the crackling noises in the second part of the video, near the end, but I found the first part so interesting. Amen... "Blest be His name forever"! And what a hymn!

Quote:
Thou didst conquer, Thou didst conquer, Sin, and Satan and the grave, Sin, and Satan and the grave.

Praise God!!

 Re:

Bumping this for those who would like to see this video... It has truly blessed me to hear the accounts of revivals from America, various parts of Scotland, Wales and Ireland. If you can, try to ignore the crackling sounds towards the end, there are some amazing testimonies of mighty moves of God in Ireland!

 Re: October 1859

This video is posted on this site without crackle as I recall.

I guess we all notice that it is about what occured in October 150 years ago "that encompassed England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the USA." :D
