Antichrist, who eventually is nothing more than Satan incarnate, will have tremendous power to deceive those that are left behind. As far as a Muslim actually being Antichrist, I find that hard to believe. Antichrist will have to appear to the Jews as the Messiah they have been praying for, for centuries. To do that, he will have to be of Jewish origin. When he brokers a peace treaty between the Jews and the Arabs, with the agreement that the Jews will rebuild their Temple---- they will think that he is the POLITICAL MESSIAH they have always wanted.
[color=990000][b]However, 3 1/2 years after the peace treaty is signed, and the Temple is finished, he will walk into the new Temple, and demand worship as God. That is when the eyes of JEWS will be opened, and they will flee to Petra, under the protection of God, where they will be safe until the end of the seven year Tribulation. Antichrist will use the Arabs to BEHEAD those who will not take the mark of the beast upon their right hand, or in their foreheads (Rev 13:16).
Also, the last one world Government is a continuation of Rome (the legs of iron, and the feet of iron and clay), the 4th one world government that fell from within.[/color][/b]
In Daniel 2 we read the following: This images head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. (Daniel 2:32-33)
However, the stone, made without hands, Jesus Christ, will destroy this image, this beast, and break it into many pieces:
Daniel 2:34-35
34. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
I realize that Islam was not a factor when Nebuchadnezzar dreamed his dream because they were not even establised until 661 AD. However, God knows the end from the beginning, and knows all things.
There is no division between the legs of iron, and the feet of iron and clay. Rome is/was represented by the iron, and the strongest of all the metals referred to in the dream. The feet of Iron and Clay are a weaker continuation of the Rome. However, the Iron and Clay will rule more of the World during Antichrist's 7 year rule than Rome did during their 2,800 years of rule.
