Beyond Bruchko and Jim Elliott, I'm having a hard time finding much information on testimonies of the power of God in South/Central America. I wonder if the gospel has really impacted Latin America in any significant way (allowing for genuine harvest that may be happening under the radar), beyond Catholicism and hyper-pentecostalism and easy believism. Very disappointing to search for info on revival and find little.
I was not thinking of participating in this forum, but I found this message and would like to bump it up again. I happen to live in Latin America and I have asked myself the same question. Churches are generally growing and there is quite some talk about revival, but mostly in the sense of "numerical growth" or "strange manifestations". Nothing genuine so far - as far as I can see. I know I am quite "negative" in this respect, but this is out of personal experience and observation. I would describe most evangelical churches here as still catholic in heart, with some pentecostal icing on top. So, I would be interested myself in knowing if there has ever been a genuine revival in Latin America.I have read that the Azusa Street revival later affected Chile in some degree around 1910, but I was not yet able to find any details about it.
