Praise vs the Battle

THE HIGH PRAISE
Ps 149:6-9
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
TO THE MOST HIGH GOD
Ps 57:2
2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
TO THE MOST HIGH NAME
Phil 2:9
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
IN THE HIGHEST WAY (WITH ALL YOUR HEART)
Ps 103:1
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
You need to realize that when we praise the most high God, the most high name in the highest way (with all of your heart) that the Devil will be bound, chains will be loosed, and you will be set free.
Deut 7:1-2
1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee
into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the
, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
These seven nations represent 7 wicked spirit groups that every believer must wrestle.
#1 THE HITTITES
HITTITES -- Fear, dread, (the Hittites were giants).
The Devil's most powerful weapon is that of fear. He knows that you can't have faith and fear at the same time. Fear paralyzes and stops growth, it stops progress, and fear ultimately brings a defeat.
But in times when your faith is lack remember what the word of the Lord says,
Josh 1:9
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
#2 THE GIRGASHITES
GIRGASHITES -- Dwellers in clay soil
The Girgashites represent the Spirits of weight.
This is the type of weights and sins that bog us down. Some definitions of weights might be finances, or unrest in the homes. The definition of weight would be anything that the Devil uses to discourage his people.
When the people of God feel discouraged
Heb 12:1 tells us,
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
#3 THE AMORITES
AMORITES -- Mountaineers -- spirits of high places.
They held the mountain cities.
Jerusalem (foundation of peace) Hebron (walk by faith, commitments) Jarmuth (high, Joy, expectancy) Eglon (a type of physical & financial blessings and obtained promises).
When the Devil comes against you with wickedness in high places, there is one way to combat that. "Let the high praise of God be in your mouth."
Eph 6:12
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
#4 THE CANAANITES
CANAANITES -- merchant, negotiator, to be subdued.
According to the Rabbins (Jewish historical records) Canaan was the youngest son of Ham. They were cursed when they looked upon the nakedness of Noah there father and made sport of it.
Canaan is a type of the spirits of compromise, seducing spirits, spirits of lust, and worldliness.
The Canaanites inhabited the city of Sodom.
Gen 13:12
12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.
Lots first step toward backsliding is mentioned in this scripture and is tied directly to Sodom. Lot had chosen to go the way of least resistance toward the well watered planes of Sodom.
Sometimes the easy way isn't always the best way.
#5 THE PERIZZITES
PERIZZITES -- to separate.
This is a type of spirits of division, an independent spirit.
Gen 13:5-8
5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.
8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
In telling about the strife between Abraham and Lot's headmen, the Lord injected the fact that the Canaanites and the Perizzites dwelled then in the land.
The Canaanites which inhabited Sodom represented the spirits of lust and carnality which affected Lots relationship with God. The Perizzites which were the spirits of division affected his relationship with his family.
#6 THE HIVITES
The HIVITES -- A serpent -- they lived in holes.
This is a type of deceiving spirits.
The saints may say "Pastor I just can't see anything wrong with it."
Gal 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
2 Cor 11:3-4
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
The best way to be sure that there is nothing wrong with "it," is ask yourself the question
"Would Jesus do it?" and if you still have a question, then most probably it is wrong.
#7 THE JEBUSITES
The JEBUSITES -- a place trodden down.
This is a type of depressing spirits, doubt, unbelief.
1 Chr 21:18, 22-24
18 Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.
23 And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all.
24 And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.
Hypocrisy
The temptation to offer to God that which cost you nothing.
Ornan was the last Jebusite mentioned in the word of the Lord. He was used of Satan to try to entice King David to offer unto the Lord that which cost him nothing. The Lord asks only that we offer ourselves as a sacrifice holy and acceptable unto him. (Romans 12: 1).
1. It is not without cost.
2. It is not without pain.
3. It is not without commitment.
We must pay the full price!

Hallelujah -- Praise the Lord

All the Christian has to do, is what the word of the Lord says in Psalms 149:6
Let the high praise of God be in your mouth

PSALMS CHAPTER 150
1 Hallelujah! Yes, praise the Lord! Praise him in his Temple and in the heavens he made with mighty power.
2 Praise him for his mighty works. Praise his unequaled greatness.
3 Praise him with the trumpet and with lute and harp.
4 Praise him with the drums and dancing. Praise him with stringed instruments and horns.
5 Praise him with the cymbals, yes, loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything alive give praises to the Lord! You praise him! Hallelujah!
(THE LIVING BIBLE).
JUDAH
JUDAH -- I will Praise the Lord.
Gen 29:32-35
32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.
33 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.
34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.
35 And she conceived again, and bare a son: and
she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.
In the word of God you could tell most about a man by his name. When Leah conceived the last time and brought forth a son ,she said, "now will I praise the Lord" and thus named her child, Judah
All the way through the word of God, Judah symbolized praise.
The Lord chose praise to go to the battle first.
Judg 20:16-18
16 Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.
17 And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
If you go to the battlefield without praise, "HOW CAN YOU FIGHT?"
If we want to win the battle, no matter what it is, we have to remember, that when the praises go up, the glory comes down.
PRAISE MAKES YOU THE CONQUEROR AND NOT THE CONQUERED!
The power of your praise
Exod 28:2-4
2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
Exod 28:15-18
15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
a sapphire, and a diamond.
16 Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
17 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.
18 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.
21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
Each of the stones in the priest's breastplate represented a different tribe. Judah in this passage of Scripture represented the emerald stone.
Rev 4:2-3
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
When you praise the Lord, your praise is so powerful that it ascends to the throne of the most high God and surrounds His throne like an emerald rainbow.
When we praise the Lord, we are literally building Him a place to dwell.
We know he dwells in the multitude of our praises.
Praising always
Ps 113:3
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised.
Over 280 times in the word of God it talks about us praising the Lord. The Lord placed great emphasis on praise.
People have been healed, people have been delivered, people have been set free, and battles have been won, while praising the Lord.
Josh 6:16
16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
Josh 6:20
20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
Praise is a wonderful key and when used the right way, " Victory is a sure thing!"
Ps 113:3
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised.
2 Sam 22:4
4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
1 Chr 16:25
25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
Ps 9:1
1 I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
Ps 35:18
18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.
Ps 54:6
6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.
Ps 56:10
10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
Ps 57:9
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
Ps 61:8
8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
Ps 63:3
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Ps 66:2
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Ps 66:8
8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
Ps 67:3
3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Ps 69:30
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Ps 74:21
21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.
Ps 98:4
4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
Ps 150:5-6
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
Ps 2:11
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Ps 9:2
2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
Ps 13:5
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
Ps 33:1
1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
Ps 33:21
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Ps 35:9
9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
Ps 85:6
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Ps 86:4
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Ps 97:12
12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Ps 119:162
162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
Ps 149:2
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Phil 4:4
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
