I need some good reading...

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a couple good books to read? I am having more time on my hands lately, and would really like some suggestions. What books have you been reading the last couple of months that have really stirred you and caused you to stop and think?

Theological, historical, devotional? I'm looking for stuff that has real meat on it.

Any books by Watchman Nee.

I'm reading The Spiritual Man at the minute. It's making me think deeply about my walk with God.

In Christ

here you go,if you havent read them already...

will the real heretic please stand up by David w Bercot (many reviews to read in the link)

Expository Thoughts on the Gospels by J C Ryle

wont read these four volumes in one sitting, but i find myself challenged and encouraged every time i read this comment or thoughts upon scripture, very devotional and very deep and yet also very practical book. Much for the money i think.

hope you havent read any of them, then you have some great things ahead, especially the first one challenged me and was very interesting at the same time. God bless you brother

Hudson Taylor's Spiritual Secret has been one of the best I've read.

I just read The Road To Reality by K. P. Yohannan and was really challenged by it. I also just read True Discipleship by William MacDonald and it was great.

Hello King Jimmy:

I have a suggestion----try reading the King James Bible. Only this time, get on our knees and pray the Scripture back to our Father in Heaven. He truly quickens His Word for those who do this.

John Wesley used to do this every day of his life.

May God continue to bless you in your Christian walk.

Walter

King Jimmy, Monarch of Huntersville:

Here are two websites where you can download some great e-books for free, my liege. It's all old public domain stuff, like Andrew Murray, Watchman Nee, Jessie Penn-Lewis, etc.

 Re:

Hi Kingjimmy,

You have a lot of suggestions at already, but in case you want more you can't go wrong reading Tozer for books that make you think real deep and open your eyes to essential truths about God.
I have just read Tozer's Persuit of God and am immediatly reading again from the beginning as there is so much to comperehend....

Hope you get blessed and moved in what you choose.
