We are living in the 'now and not yet' - as has been said, yearning to be free of an encumbrance. Our perfection is accomplished yet being worked out. Hence sin, for the believer, pricks our hearts, requiring a swift and full response in repentance restitution, before the effects of that sin which will draw us, slowly but surely, away from God, weakening our relationship with him, closing down our testimony, and grieving Him.
