A Great Year For You by Wesley L. Duewel

A Great Year For You
by Wesley L. Duewel

God longs for this to be a great year of personal revival for you! God desires this to be the greatest year you have ever known. Maybe you have prayed often for the salvation of friends, for increased blessing on your work, and for a new anointing on your life. Perhaps many of these prayers have not had the full answer you have been longing for. Do not be discouraged; take a new grip on God in simple living faith. God wants this to be the year of answered prayer that you have been longing for. From God’s standpoint there is not the slightest reason why this should not be a miracle year for you!

There is strong scriptural proof that God wants your present spiritual life to be the best you have ever known, your present prayer life to be the most fruitful you have ever known, your present love for Christ to be the deepest and strongest you have ever known, and your present daily experience to be the most victorious you have ever known. God wants your life to be richer, fuller, deeper, more blessed, and more anointed every passing year. (See 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Col. 1:27-28; Eph. 4:13; 2 Cor. 13:11).

God always plans that your future be better than your past. This year is full of blessings that God is longing to bestow on you personally. Unworthy as you have been and still are, God loves you with an exceedingly deep and tender love. He is ready to do as much for your personal spiritual life as He has ever done for the life of anyone else. Believe in His deeply personal love, His power, and His all-sufficiency for you (2 Pet. 1:3-4).

There is scriptural proof that God is longing to work through you. Whoever you are, wherever you are, God wants you to be His salt, His light, His seed, His witness, His ambassador, His co-laborer (Rom. 12:1-2). God wants to work through you more now than He has ever been able to do in the past. The Holy Spirit has been promised to cleanse and empower you so that you may be God’s co-laborer.

Humanly speaking, you are utterly unworthy, incapable, and completely insufficient. Humanly speaking, you cannot expect to be a co-laborer with God. Even if God condescended to choose you for His servant, how could you become His co-laborer? God knew it was utterly impossible for you to do this in your own strength, your own wisdom, and your own nature. This is why He promises you the Holy Spirit. All you need you can find in Him (Acts 1:4-5).

All the radiance, wisdom, and power you need is promised in Him. The fruits you need are fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23); the guidance you need is guidance of the Spirit (John 16:13); the wisdom you need is wisdom of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:8; 1 John 2:20); the power you need is the power of the Spirit (Acts 1:8). All you need is promised to you through God’s Holy Spirit. Do you know Him? Do you know His mighty cleansing, mighty empowering, mighty indwelling? You can be God’s co-worker, God’s instrument of revival if the Holy Spirit cleanses, fills and indwells you completely.

God has chosen that revival be a work in which we work together with Him. We cannot bring revival by our own efforts, but God has chosen not to send revival without our cooperation. When God desires to work mightily, He puts deep desires in the hearts of His people, He draws His people to pray more earnestly, and He calls them to new and fuller steps of obedience.

Is not God working in your life now? Do you not believe that God desires new blessings on His Church and an ingathering of new believers? Has not God made every provision? Has He not placed His hand upon your own life, even though you may feel unworthy of His love? Believe in Him and obey Him. Expect great things; attempt great things in His power. God is depending on you to help bring about a revival this year!

Lord, make this whole year all You desire it to be.
