Scriven, 1855[/i]What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms Hell take and shield you; you will find a solace there.Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bearMay we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayerRapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.from: http://cyberhymnal.org/htm/w/a/f/wafwhij.htm

Thank you, Greg,Glad to have the complete set of lyrics. I sing this often but can only go through the first verse, over and over. I love the older, simpler hymns. Kind regards, white stone

In my humble opinion, one cannot walk after the Spirit without a life of prayer, prayer being a continual meeting with the Father. Jesus Himself being our example, for He was ever attempting to be alone with the Father for direction of His day to day activities. The Bible encourages us to seek the Lord while He can yet be found. God in turn places a "knowing" of guidance and revelation in our spirit. His Word becomes life in our hearts. His fruit begin to grow among weeds and thorns. Taking it to Jesus in prayer by faith is worship. It is the ultimate expression of faith. His revelation of Himself to us is the expression of His life and love. His presence revealed in our hearts will always result in worship. Glorious worship. For in His presence there is fullness of joy. He inhabits the praises of His people. Come quickly Lord Jesus..."O"
