Paul tells us in Phillipians to not be anxious about anything. It is especially difficult to not be as more and more us experience hardship due to the nations economy. This morning, instead of worrying, I took my concern to God as Paul suggested. It is natural to hope that in so doing, God would relieve the hardship. Who in their right mind would not want that? We often think we are at our end before we truly are. We don't want to go to the real end, but the real end is where God's glory resides. God will not tempt us beyond what we can bear, but He does want to stretch us to get closer to our end before we lose it.Ultimately He wants us to get to the place where we do not approach Him to tell Him what we want Him to do, but rather to see what He wants us to do. It is our duty to follow, knowing that if we do, we will see His glory.I use the word ultimately for a reason; few are there. Most of us are somewhere along the way. We are learning to trust. Remember that He will not tempt us beyond what we can bear, but He does want to stretch us that we might be able to bear more and more. I understand this is not entirely encouraging: it wasn't entirely encouraging to me. Who wants to go there. But in light of how bad things could get, we may find it nescessary, more and more, to keep this in mind.
