| with all due respect | | I watched the video and it doesn't surprise me. It has been more than ten years since I've been on the streets witnessing with a team the Lord put together, but back than personaly I was hit and assulted physically, had a gun put to my head, several knives pulled on me and my team, and even had people drive thier vehicals up on the sidewalk and try to run us over, not to mention the numerous insults and curses. I was raised up in Christ to believe that was the cost of being a christian. When I recieved Christ as my savior I understood what could be. As a side note I have watched God judge many who attacked us unto death, the real thing physical death, I have seen bars close down, and best of all I have witnessed the Lord save many who would today be eternally in hell, Paul said it right Rom 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.

But I never saw anyone become aggressive against me.
Chris,
I understand what you are saying. I also agree with it. There are many people who are hungry for God and seeking and when we come to them the right way reasonably and wisely we are able to minister to them without offending them. There is a time however to sharply rebuke people. Like Jude says that we have to make a discernment some we are to be gentle with and other we have to pull them out of the fire saving them with fear. Then there are also those who will just hate us for being a Christian like Daniel was hated and so on. There are places and people that are more aggressive in this sense and the gay community I believe to often be one of them though not all the time but it may be escalating as the wickedness of man grows the the society corrupts. Lastly, I would like to mention what Jesus said once again this is not in complete contradiction to what you are saying only the other side of the coin, "the world hates me because I testify against it that its deeds are evil". |

Yeah, I just thought it would be beneficial to post it since it is recent and tied to what is currently going on and may make us aware of the trends and conditions.

Wow this whole post is quite a testimony. Where did you preach? I have preached in CA and heard from some friends that San Francisco is pretty aggressive. If you want to please possibly share a couple of these stories especially the death unless you find it inappropriate? |

| Re: Christian's almost killed over proposition 8 in CA by an angry mob. (video) | | You know, it's difficult to find a New Testament example of Christians taking to the streets like this, it's usually the world that gets upset and reacts this way. Paul admonishes us to lead a "quiet and peaceable life" 1Tim2:2.
I am not judging the situation, because I don't know. I am just presenting a thought into the discussion. :-( |

In response for thought here are a couple example though a couple of them are from the OT I believe they still apply. Daniel went and prayed as was his custom even though he knew they would imprison him and he even opened his window so they would see. Stephen preached before the Sanhedrin even though he knew they were becoming angry. Paul spoke in the marketplaces "or in the streets in public" and would travel to places to preach knowing he would be attacked even though many from the Church begged him not to he said my life is nothing. Amos said they hate him who rebukes within the gate "or city".

I dont know what you mean?

We are to lead a peacable life. We are to do all we can on our part for peace. We are to be peacemakers as children of God. There are times though when we have to stand for righteousness like Meshech or countless others. I would also say that this is making peace. To preach against or pray against murder and such is an attempt for peace. At least true peace. The world says peace peace but there is no peace says my God for the wicked. Jesus gives a peace not like the world gives. |

| Re: | | Davidt and John, thank you both for your patient and gracious responses.
I think you are both right that I miss-spoke here, thinking that the video was portraying acts of violence against Christians. I had this impression from the title of the thread. I'm sorry.
Please forgive me for any confusion here.
God's love to you,
Chris
