 When will it end?

The Lord is showing me more and more how sick we really are - the things that we will do to procure the things that we want, or think that we want, keeps rising to greater heights. Somehow Satan keeps trapping us with this notion that the things that we can not have are more valuable than the things that the Lord has given; and we become fools, wicked in our depravity, trying to obtain that which He has not given.

Oh people, how we need to wake up to this, for we are being herded in the wrong direction – away from God – away from the wisdom that He so freely bestows upon us. Oh how can it be that we trade the animate for the inanimate – the real for the false – the truth for the lie. When will it end? Are we going to feed our selves until we explode? Are we going to consume everything, and everyone, around us to satiate our never ending appetite for the feeding or our selves?

When are we going to wake up to the fact that only God is good; that only He sees what is necessary; that only He knows the way. When will we ever stop grabbing for that which He says we can not have as we disregard all that He has given. We are not thankful - for if we were, we would be content with that which He has provided. We are not trusting - for if we were, we would not be grabbing for more. We do not believe - for if we did, we would wait upon Him.

There is a great disparity between that which we say and that which is in our heart. May the Lord open our eyes to our true condition - may He reveal the intention of our heart as we proclaim His holy Name. May He open our eyes to the path that He has set before us and may we trust in Him for each and every step that we take along the way.
