FAITH UNDER FIREPastor gets prison for sermonSentenced to month in jail for offending homosexuals--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Posted: July 8, 20041:00 a.m. EasternA Swedish court has sentenced Ake Green, a pastor belonging to the Pentecostal movement, to a month in prison, under a law against incitement, after he was found guilty of having offended homosexuals in a sermon, according to Ecumenical News International. Green had described homosexuality as "abnormal, a horrible cancerous tumor in the body of society" in a 2003 sermon. Soren Andersson, the president of the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender rights, said on hearing Green's jail sentence that religious freedom could never be used as a reason to offend people. © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com How sad is that? You can't even teach truth anymore without people going to jail or paying fines! This world is so corrupt...

Praise God! He's so incredible, "always" having a holy remanant who will be willing to do his will REGARDLESS of the worldly consequences. I deffinately think we should be keeping Mr. Ake Green in our prayers.

I have emailed the Swedish ambasador to the US to tell him of my displeasure. I also pointed out that logical absurdity of this. They are punishing one group while trying to protect another. For a system of government to do that, it's absurd!I think God is judging that nation by allowing them to do whatever they want to do. When God takes his hand off a people, that is often the harshest judgement He ever does. He allows them to implode.

Slovak Ruling Party Protests Swedish Pastor Jailed for Comments Offending HomosexualsBRATISLAVA, July 28, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The recent jailing of a Swedish Pentecostal pastor for "hate speech against homosexuals" has incited a rebuke from Slovakia's ruling Christian Democratic Movement (KDH). Interior Minister Vladimír Palko took his complaint directly to Cecilia Julin, the Swedish ambassador in Slovakia. Palko told Julin that he felt compelled to voice his complaint directly to her. Palko called the Swedish court's decision a case in point of how "a left wing liberal ideology was trying to introduce tyranny and misuse the EU for this purpose," according to a Slovak Spectator account. The KDH organized a press conference to draw attention to their party's protest of the decision, and to emphasize how important it is that Slovaks be freely able to express their views.Pavol Hruovský, KDH chairman, said that the decision to jail Green was "a breach of human rights, the right to religious freedom, and the right of expression". "In Europe people are starting to be jailed for saying what they think," Palko added. Earlier in July, Ake Green, pastor of a Swedish Pentecostal church in Kalmar, Sweden, was sentenced to one month in prison by a Swedish court, for inciting hatred against homosexuals. Green was prosecuted in January for "hate speech against homosexuals" for a sermon he preached last summer citing Biblical references to homosexuality.
