NATIVE MISSIONARY REACHES REMOTE NIGERIAN VILLAGE FOR CHRIST

The desolate, rural village in northern Nigeria, populated by Muslims from the Hausa tribe, had been written off as “hopeless” by neighbors.
Of the more than 500 tribes in Nigeria, the Hausa are the largest unreached people group. Primarily Muslim, they are resistant to the gospel and especially hostile to evangelism.

However, in the past year, a native missionary made this community her field of work. The native men in this remote village were initially skeptical, but released their women to the missionary for training. The women attended literacy and vocational training classes and received an introduction to biblical precepts.
Several local youths also began to attend the sessions, and some placed their faith in Christ. As the men of the village began to notice changes in the women and children, they too were drawn to accept Christ in their lives.
