Mat 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
My heart is broken for the state of love in the post modern church. It seems so common that love is a catch phrase but seldom realized. Godly Christlike love that sese others more important than ourselves, their needs, their salvation and relationship with the Lord.
So many are quick to judge their brother but truly don't love their brother. It seems like a plague, a cold spirit washing over people so quick to judge another but in no way showing that they hold that person in a place of importance, not showing a love that would sacrifice everything to see those they judge set free. So many have a word against their brother, overseer, neighbor, other ministries, other denominations other religions, other philosophies, other genders, other races and yet not discernable love for any but themselves and their "words" and "judgments".
The Lord stands AGAINST sure people, who call down anothers but have not love for those they call down. James and John suffered from this very attitude...
Luk 9:52 and He sent messengers on ahead of Him, and they went and entered a village of the Samaritans to make arrangements for Him.
Luk 9:53 But they did not receive Him, because He was traveling toward Jerusalem.
Luk 9:54 When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?"
Luk 9:55 But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of;
Luk 9:56 for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."
The Lord very clearly is AGAINST such a person and yet so many seem to have had their love wax cold and have lost their spark to bless those who are in error, bless those who persecute, bless those who so desperately NEED to be blessed. I believe this to be a fundamental reason so many post modern churchs are so dangerous, why so many suffer from mental abuse in these places why so many find themselves out of fellowship in these last days.
Will you pray with me that the Lord's love would abound in those who call on His name and from this authentic love, His revival can be birthed...
2Co 3:6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
