We were blessed to have the wife of an "underground" minister in China at our church this evening. The conditions there are deplorable and persecution is intense among many believers. Let's lift them up in prayer. As far as North Korea, thousands are dying due to hunger even as I type this... One of the highlights for the average North Korean is when the grass comes out in the spring and they cook the grass (i.e. like greens for you Southerners) with some flour. Even the soldiers are near starvation. In the midst of all this tribulation, the power of the Holy Spirit is seen and many are coming to Christ. Although we don't always understand the whys of everything, God is still on the throne and He has a grand purpose in all of this. These wonderful words from Romans 12 come to my mind, particularly the 15th verse: 11. Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13. Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.Let's travail with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
