Everyone should listen to Stephen Kaung's "A Look at Authority 1: Spiritual and False". This is one of the best messages I've found.
Here is the sermon that you mentioned dear brother for peoples convience. Thank you for the recommendation brother and I would love it if you could share more of the paticuliars of how this message touched you. I will take a listen at it now also.A Look At Authority 1: Spiritual & False by Stephen Kaung - This sermon looks at the nature of authority and also deals with the fact of false authority. It starts with Romans 13 and moves through many Scriptures dealing with authority, submission, and obedience. Kaung shows that only God deserves complete obedience and that he must be obeyed at all costs. The main message of the sermon can be summed up in this quote from the message: "God is the only authority in the Universe. There is no authority whatsoever except God himself -- and what God has given.
There is so much misunderstanding about authority; we mistake something thats commonly accepted as authorities (sic) without really knowing what authority really is.
God is the one and only authority. Any professed authority that is not from God -- that is not God himself -- is not real authority, because God is the only authority in the whole universe.
The more you give, the more authority you have. The Lord Jesus said, I gave myself a ransom for many. Because he gave himself as a ransom for many, the many come under his authority. If you want to be the first among your brothers and sisters, then you have to be a bond-slave, not only to Christ, but to your brothers and sisters.

I am part way through this message actually at the 20 minute part and have to say its a very thought provoking message and is great teaching!. Stephen Kaung mentions that he just came to Toronto, Canada to a church here I am wondering if anyone knows what church this is, I am assuming its a brethren church? hmm
Sorry to answer my own question but I found a Non-denominational youth church on the web that is based in Toronto, and Stephen Kaung has come to speak there before: http://www.tccyf.ca/EDIT: I spoke to a sister from that church and she will let me know when Stephen Kaung comes to speak at their church again, I shall go forsure.
Kaung is now one of my new favorites. I love Ravenhill, Wilkerson, and Duncan Campbell. I was just surfing the other preachers and stumbled upon Kaung. I enjoy apologetics and philosophy and Kaung has a gentle/intelligent approach. In regards to this particular sermon...I can only say that I've never heard a message specifically on authority and how God is the only real authority in the universe. It is extremely thought provoking as are most of his other sermons. Between Kaung, Ravenhill, Campbell, and Wilkerson I've got months worth of sermons to enjoy!Thx Sermonindex. Your site is making a difference in other Christian's lives! I've listened to "Revival Hymn" at least 100 times since downloading it a few months ago...In ChristMatt
