Saints,We have not even begun our official registration for Evangecamp #1: Niagara Falls at the hotel and already we have an important prayer need. Darrel Warren, one of our camp leaders, was en route to Buffalo from Seattle, WA with his wife Bernice, when she had a medical emergency on the plane. She felt very faint, like she was going to pass out, which is a scary feeling when flying at 35,000 feet. The plane was headed to Boston and they were going to catch a transfer flight to Buffalo, but the plane made an emergency landing here in Buffalo. She is in a hospital right now about five minutes from the airport, where our hotel is located. Our God is an amazing, Sovereign God; were hopeful that she will be released today. If so, Hes even worked it out to get them a direct flight from Seattle. We dont know yet what caused this health problem, but we hope to find out by the time registration begins this afternoon. Once we get access to a van, we hope to be able to pay her a visit, if she is not released by that time. Please keep Bernice in prayer. Thanks. Blessings,Jon
Saints,A quick update on the condition of Darrel Warrens wife, Bernice. Bernice apparently had whats called a TIA; or a mini-stroke, on the airplane. Praise the Lord, after testing and observation, she was released today at 6:00PM! She rested in the hotel tonight and will probably rest all day tomorrow as well. Shed love to be able to come out on the streets with us, but shes not ready yet. Praise the Lord for her improved health. Shes rejoicing in the Lord and still glad to be here in spite of everything. The camp has started off with a bang. We spent the day in downtown Buffalo today, doing one-to-one and open-air evangelism. There was much fruit; many were referred to solid local churches which we gleaned from the Nine Marks website. This was an encouraging step for us since we want to build the ministry of local churches when we go into an area with a camp. Many fruitful one-to-ones came directly out of the open-air; some of which lasted for over an hour! Tonight was difficult; there was a large concert in Lafayette Square. The teens we saw there are heavily influenced by paganism and Wiccan practices. There was much gang activity as well, despite the large police presence. Debauchery is not too strong of a term to describe it. It was the worst venue Ive seen in street evangelism in four years of doing this in the terms of the outright debauchery. It made our experiences in the Mardi Gras in Texas this year look quite tame in comparison. Praise the Lord, there were still some good one-to-ones, but it was tough going. An independent film crew contacted us about filming our outreach for a non-biased documentary project. They will join us tomorrow afternoon in Niagara Falls. Please pray that they will simply report whats happening and that the Lord will be glorified. Were looking forward to the relaxed environment of Niagara Falls after a tough night tonight. Thanks for your prayers and letting us know that you are praying. The fields are truly white unto harvest! Blessings,JonThe Warrens deeply appreciate all of your prayers.
I'm glad to hear she is feeling better.
