 Children of Light

Walk, as children of light....... Eph 5:8

The children born with an inheritance, a name to live up to, a heritage which rises above the ordinary, which IS in truth much larger than they themselves can even comprehend.

Dear children, who love their Father and desire to walk in His steps, to be well pleasing to Him, to bring honor to His name.

Trusting children, who know that their Father always does what is right for them, always best, always helping, never abandoning, ever patient, always teaching them what they need to know!

Children with respect, reverence, and awe; but not fearful of what their Father would bring into their lives.

Obedient children, who learn the joy of obedience, the sorrow of waywardness; who welcome the truth, receiving their corrections knowing that it is for their good, for their own health, for the hope of things they may not see nor understand fully.

Honoring children, who would do what they know is good and right and true regardless of any spectators watching them, simply because of they LOVE the teaching from their Father. Those who would watch over thoughts, their speech, their intentions, their desires, hoping to be a decorous example of their Father’s care.

Harmless children, ready to forgive, willing to listen, to share, to rejoice, to weep, not holding malice towards any.

Wise children, being careful to walk with regard to the difficulty of the path, listening to the voice that says ‘caution ahead’, recognizing the faults around you without despising, steering clear of obvious danger.

Children who are prepared:

But of the times and seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write unto you,

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night,

For when they shall say, ‘Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape,

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

Ye are all children of light and children of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober (self controlled).

For those who sleep, sleep at night; and they that be drunken are drunken at night.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet the hope of salvation. I Thess. 5: 1-8
