The Harvest Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:7-9You would not for a second believe that by digging a little hole in the ground and dropping in an apple seed or two that you could have an apple tree with fresh apples on it in just a few days time. To believe something like that would be foolish to say the least, not to mention the fact that by any standard you would be considered easily deceivable. The day I landed in jail was not the result of a seed I had planted just a few days before; it was absolute destruction from the many seeds that I had planted over a period of time and cultivated with a corrupt heart. To think or believe anything else would be crazy. Over the last five years I have spent a great deal of time making an effort to become an educated farmer by focusing first and foremost on my relationship with God. It is not by trial and error that I choose what seeds to plant, but by a continual and uninterrupted focus on Gods word. I am very careful of the seeds I sow, all the time understanding that God cannot be mocked. Looking at my harvest now I can see that it is the result of seeds that were planted over four years ago and cultivated with a pure heart. Now, if the harvest here on earth is this good, I cant even imagine what the eternal harvest will be like! What we need to realize is that it is never too late to sow seeds that will produce a harvest and not destruction. So let me ask you: What kind of farmer do you want to be? C. Young
