| Revival in Jena, Louisiana | | I was just reading today about a revival that broke out in Jena, Louisiana. You may remember last fall there was a lot of racial tension in that area. A 4 day revival just finished its 7th week. Black and white churches are coming together for the meetings. I would be interested in hearing a testimony of someone who is in that area and is going to the meetings. I know just what I have read. Here is some of the articles that have been written on this move of God: http://www.bpnews.net/BPSearch.asp?search=jena&yr=&sortby=DESC&mo1=1&mo2=12

| Re: Revival in Jena, Louisiana | | Would hate to see this just get buried somewhere, but the sheer simplicity, a small town, even the great ... thwarting and overthrowing of mere men's actions that practically made the whole situation worse by their foolish efforts ... now ... Revival!
This is tremendous saints. May it jump the fences and spread like wildfire ...

Pardon the bluntness here but ...
Wake up people!
When youre spiritually dead youre separated from God for all eternity, he preached. Keep on sinning; theres a payday coming.... Men are so concerned about what they have than whats having them.
Ive preached revivals since I was 18-19 years old, and only one time have I seen anything resemble this, Robertson said. The pastor later said hed stopped too soon. I wish he could have lived to have seen this. Manley Beasley used to say a great revival is like a forest fire. You may trace its early course, following the first lines of flame, but soon its progress is so swift and widely diffused that the eye can no longer keep pace with it, and thats what were praying God will do in Jena.

I remember back in the late 90's when our church was having revival. It was going into it's 7th week and things were happening. People were coming in from other churches round about us and then the Pastors from that church got together with the place that was having the revival and they were concerned about their members decreasing and coming over here.
That Pastor too stopped the revival, because of pressure. The man that came in to lead the revival was stunned. We pray for revival, God sends it and we compromise with man. You should have heard the groans that evening when the Pastor said he was stopping the revival. I couldn't believe it, he said, "Were going to stop the revival". We haven't seen a revival ever, and he's preached about revival, prayer meetings every week for revival and then ends the revival that we've been praying for, talk about hypocrisy.
STUPID!! |

This revival is not for the white folk, Young preached to a largely white audience. This revival is for Jena!

| Re: Revival in Jena, Louisiana | | This is so incredible. After reading all the links that Mike posted as well as the original poster - Baohongen, i got so excited that i went to "Map Quest" to see how far Jena, LA. is and where the First Baptist Church were from where i live. After seeing the results, i just had to sulk because it would be an 8 hour and 39 minute drive from where i am.
Would also like to comment that i never knew of the tension going on there between Black and White. Dear Lord, when will racism ever end. After reading about this Revival and how both Black and White are coming together; It reminded me of the "Azusa Street Revival" where Black and White, Rich and poor, etc. came together because of Revival and that God was there and moving in peoples lives.
For the record; i do not hate osas people. I know people who are Baptist and love them very much and if a "True Revival" breaks out in a Baptist Church, you can bet i'll be there myself. Speaking locally that is. I never want to put God in a box on where he sends "True Revival". Be it with the pentecostal, or Baptist, or with any other denomination. If he sends Revival to an all Black Church, i'll be there to that to.
I just want to experience my Lord in a "True Revival" setting. If "True Revival" comes outside of a denomination then so be it as well. I thank God so much for what all he's doing for those wonderful people in that town with what seems like "True and Genuine Revival". Thanks be to God!
Baohongen, thank you ever so much for posting this.
