Did John Calvin teach Limited Atonement exclusively?

I am wondering if Calvin believed what the five points teach reguarding Limited Atonement? I hear some teach that in verses that are reguarded as "Arminian" Calvin will say that in someway God died for everyone somehow,I dont get it what is John Calvin's opinion on this,I know what the general Calvinist take is on it and I'm down with that,It works for me,and does His teaching relate to what i think Spurgeon called Common/Saving grace I'm just a regular dude looking for the truth in love
