What is your Mission statement?

Yesterday my pastor brought up this subject. "What is your mission statement? What is the core statement which you live by?

For me, it is this statement from our Lord

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

To put it in simple words, preaching the gospel and living the gospel.

I am curious. What is the core principles which you live by as a Christian?

 Re: Mission statement: A question

Looked up the word mission in the dictionary. Here's what it said.

Mission: a particular task or goal assigned to a person or group, a journey undertaken as part of this, a person's vocation (mission in life), a body of persons sent, a foreign country to conduct negotiations, a body sent to propogate a religious faith, etc.

But, regardless of what the dictionary says, my personal mission is found in Colossians 1v10 ...fully pleasing Him.

God bless.

Maintaining that Jesus Christ has done the work on the cross and by faith in Him alone makes us righteous before God.

What a good question! It makes you think - and pray, doesn't it!

I couldn't come up with anything in my own words, except "follow Him". Then this "golden oldie"came to mind, and is the nearest I can get. Most of it is as true now as when I first came to the Lord, and still the desire of my heart. The only exception is theological - when you truly believe He does come into our hearts, andnever leaves. So asking Him to come in isn't appropriate!

But that's probably nit-picking!:

1. I want to walk with Jesus Christ
All the days I live of this life on earth
To give to Him complete control
Of body and of soul

[chorus] Follow Him, follow Him, yield your life to Him
He has conquered death, He is King of kings
Accept the joy which He gives to those
Who yield their lives to Him

2. I want to learn to speak to Him
To pray to Him, confess my sin
To open my life and let Him in
For joy will then be mine

3. I want to learn to speak of Him
My life must show that He lives in me
My deeds, my thoughts, my words must speak
All of His love for me

4. I want to learn to read His word
For this is how I know the way
To live my life as pleases Him
In holiness and joy

5. O Holy Spirit of the Lord
Enter now into this heart of mine
Take full control of my selfish will
And make me wholly Thine.
