Devotional: Consider that the mountainous tidal waves that stood on either side of the Israelites were not devoid of power. Immeasurable forces were held at bay by HIS hands!
To the Egyptians, those tidal waves were released upon their faithlessness. By the faithfulness of Almighty GOD…these same tidal waves were restrained…as an immense blessing for HIS people. So the favor of HIS flooding can be viewed from two stances. One is when HE fills our vessels and the other is when HE restrains such tidal waves. As we see with this biblical example, when HE favors us, whether through relentless rivers or the withholding of such….HIS sovereign will in our lives is for the purpose of blessing. Amen and amen!

Life’s tidal wave rises with surges of strength
as the LORD wills its wall to great heights!
Towering! Forceful! It’s length has no limit
since Favor and purpose combine within CHRIST!

It’s rapid advancement moves Faithless…to fear
yet instills waves of joy in HIS own!
Hence, to one its appearance means certain destruction
as though none shall live once the Flood’s pow’r is known!

But those who believe only see GOD’s salvation
as HIS blessings for them are outpoured!
Thus this soul praises HIM who – the Red Sea – did part
and who now fills this soul…with much more!
