Are you a Transformed Repentant or a Temporal Repentant? Mark 2:17/Luke 15:7

Devotional: Mark 2:17: “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” We also read in Luke 15:7 “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

The Transformed Repentant is one who doesn’t trust in their infirmity or their lack nor the lacks of others. The Temporal Repentant thinks that somehow the joining of people of like minds (flawed and fleshly as we all are) will produce a path that is worthy. If no one else joins such a path, they will create their own….thinking they do not need CHRIST’s definition of repentance.

Sadly, we do not know the length of our lives and as such, the length of our books nor how many pages we are allotted. Consequently, the Temporal Repentant risks everything to pursue their own will. Speaking most to self, let us choose the permanence of CHRIST’s finished work and the surrender to which we are called so that as Transformed Repentant’s, we will stand one day and here HIM say, “Well done! Thou good and faithful servant! Amen and amen!

Damaging words from the mute,
combined with the vision from one who was blind;
together they listened to what the deaf heard
and without any facts…did decide…

that “We choose to ignore CHRIST’s display
and rather embrace vague suggestions as truth.
Though we cannot give reasons which make concrete sense,
we will follow our paths…without proof.”

“As such, do not show us the teachings
of ONE who has none of our lack nor our pride.
Do not speak of Truth for they know not our steps
and we learned HE – in weakness -- had died.”

Then boldly, GOD’s servant withstood them
and taught of the LORD’s resurrection!
Convicted so these, who had blatantly spoken,
were cautioned to heed HIS correction!

Yet they did not respond with whole hearts
and delayed their directional changes.
Sadly, Time was not theirs to control...so they found
no recourse at the end of their pages.

Friend, our books, bound by binders of flesh
are unique and o’erflowing with difference.
Thus, HIS call echoes, “Follow Perfection, your LORD!”
and MY truths...without temporal repentance.

As HIS servant in your service,
WVW Jasnoch 1/8/08
