 Directionally Driven...into the sand!

Devotional: This could be titled, “Directionally Driven…into the sand!”. The more hustle and bustle, the more worry and scurry, the greater panic…thus frantic am I; then I miss the obvious. Consider JESUS’ preaching to the crowds in Matthew 6:27-34: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? (Verse 28), “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. (Verse 29)
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

(Verse 30) If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (Verse 31) So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ (Verse 32) For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. (Verse 33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Verse 34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

GOD gave me three books which I wrote regarding purpose and service for HIM. The main thing I learned was that it’s HIS timing…and what I should do in the “waiting period” is to watch and pray fervently and expectantly. If I bend low every hour in prayer for spans of time to await HIS indwelling and wisdom…then the reality is that I will be shown the direction I am to take…and when I have done so to HIS glory…I shall come forth as gold! Job 23:10 “But HE knoweth the way that I take: when HE hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold!” Amen and amen!

At life’s crossroads we seek HIS directions
for no other question consumes us as much.
“Which Way, LORD? Please show me!”
we cry – unrelenting…
whilst obvious signs stand unnoticed…as such.

For the crossroads are much like HIS Cross
for ‘twas not designed so one’s stance was prolonged.
“For Purpose! For Service!
we cry – unrelenting…
whilst wading through training we complain to be wrong.

So the sign which stands out beyond “clearly”
leads not left, right, nor even “straight forward”!
LORD! Quickly! Succinctly!
we cry – unrelenting…
whilst standing once patiently – but now…no more.

Then this physical frame HIS will touches…
until – dropped to my knees – is HIS servant.
“Child! Be still! Watch and pray!”
so HE whispers…
“for one’s kneeling – surrendered – gains Purpose!

As HIS servant in your service,
