Hi poet,

This may be what you're looking for. It follows on the exhortations of Romans 11 for those who believe (both Jew and Gentile) to demonstrate the kindness they have experienced, to those who have not yet experienced it (both Jew and Gentile). Thus, although chapter twelve is mainly about the life of Church, it finishes with how we must love our enemies, in the hope of causing them also to love God's provision for them in Christ.

28 As regards, indeed, the good tidings, they are enemies on your account; and as regards the choice--beloved on account of the fathers; 29 for unrepented of are the gifts and the calling of God; 30 for as ye also once did not believe in God, and now did find kindness by the unbelief of these: 31 so also these now did not believe, that in your kindness they also may find kindness; 32 for God did shut up together the whole to unbelief, that to the whole He might do kindness...

Romans 12:1 I call upon you, therefore, brethren, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a sacrifice--living, sanctified, acceptable to God--your intelligent service; 2 and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what is the will of God--the good, and acceptable, and perfect.

3 For I say, through the grace that was given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think above what it behoveth to think; but to think so as to think wisely, as to each God did deal a measure of faith, 4 for as in one body we have many members, and all the members have not the same office, 5 so we, the many, one body are in Christ, and members each one of one another.

6 And having gifts, different according to the grace that was given to us; whether prophecy--`According to the proportion of faith!' 7 or ministration--`In the ministration!' or he who is teaching--`In the teaching!' 8 or he who is exhorting--`In the exhortation!' he who is sharing--`In simplicity!' he who is leading--`In diligence?' he who is doing kindness--`In cheerfulness.'

9 The love unfeigned: abhorring the evil; cleaving to the good; 10 in the love of brethren, to one another kindly affectioned: in the honour going before one another; 11 in the diligence not slothful; in the spirit fervent; the Lord serving; 12 in the hope rejoicing; in the tribulation enduring; in the prayer persevering; 13 to the necessities of the saints communicating; the hospitality pursuing.

14 Bless those persecuting you; bless, and curse not; 15 to rejoice with the rejoicing, and to weep with the weeping, 16 of the same mind one toward another, not minding the high things, but with the lowly going along; become not wise in your own conceit; 17 giving back to no one evil for evil; providing right things before all men.

18 If possible--so far as in you--with all men being in peace; 19 not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance is Mine, 20 I will recompense again, saith the Lord;' if, then, thine enemy doth hunger, feed him; if he doth thirst, give him drink; for this doing, coals of fire thou shalt heap upon his head; 21 Be not overcome by the evil, but overcome, in the good, the evil.

Ezr 10:11 Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.

Psa 103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all [ye] his hosts; [ye] ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Psa 111:2 The works of the LORD [are] great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

I don't know if that helps or not. What translation do you use?

Hi poet,

I remembered this also...

Luke 6
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend [to them] of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The Scripture you are refering comes from
Ephesians Chapter 5 beginning with verse
8 ; "For you were once darkness, but now you
are light in the Lord. Walk as children of
light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all
goodness, righteousness, and truth) finding
out what is pleasing to the Lord." 8-)
