Being translated from darkness to the kingdom of his dear son

By Warren Litzman

There is a vast difference between being saved from something than being saved to something—translated into His kingdom.

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." (Col. 1:13)

If you have been born again, it is a fact that you have Christ in you! Something remarkable happened to you that obliterates everything that made you who you used to be. Your rebirth either pushes all of your past into the background, or wipes it out altogether so that it just doesn’t matter! If God has actually birthed His Son in you, there is nothing on this Earth that can make a difference to who and what you now are. The reason I can say that is because you are now His—His offspring!

Nothing that has been created has anything to do with who you are anymore because what you now are was planned by God before the foundation of the world (before anything was created)— to be in Christ (Eph. 1:4). Nothing in creation can affect who you are or nor take it away. Nothing in creation can hinder your relationship with God. In order for all of this to work, you must know that God has done something to you. You have to go beyond the church, beyond your experience, beyond everything, and ask the Holy Spirit just what it is that has happened to you? The man who first understood this message said that he did not get it from man, neither was he taught it. It came by revelation from Jesus Christ (Gal. 1:1-2). His understanding and the understanding you receive from God goes above and beyond anything that is of this world.

The one thing that you do know about yourself is here and now. Before you were born you did not know anything about yourself, and when you die you will not know anything about yourself. You know about the physical you because you feel, hurt, eat, live, and sleep. Therefore, you do know something about yourself in the physical (third dimensional) here and now. But there is something that God has done to you that is just as real, even more real, than the third dimensional you.

The key word in understanding what God has done to you is the word translated. Do you have any understanding that you have been translated from darkness to the kingdom of Christ (Col. 1:13)? The moment you were birthed (born again), God took you out of one form and put you into another form. He took you out of one existence and put you into another existence. You must have an understanding for what that translation did to you. You were taken from one form, where you were dead in your sin nature, and did not even know it. You must see that you were dead to God and did not know it! I emphasize this because you can also be alive to God and not know it either! Because you feel the same, because you look like the same person, you could be fooled into thinking that nothing has happened to you in your rebirthing!

Multitudes of born-again believers do not have an understanding of the difference between their death and their life. When they were dead to God they did not know it, and now that they are alive to God they do not know it! What Christians do know is the experience that "they did something." They either walked down an aisle, or responded to an appeal, or gave their heart to God, or confessed their sins, or cried out to God to save them from drugs or alcohol, or were in a jam and asked God to help them out of it. They had an experience, but did not have a revelation. There was no revelation that they were dead one moment and alive the next. Unfortunately, many people who have had such an experience did not get translated into His kingdom. What they did was to bring Christ into their lives. You may say, "Well what is wrong with bringing Christ into my life?" Bringing Christ into your little world is entirely different than being translated into His kingdom. "There is a vast difference between being saved from something than being saved to something—translated into His kingdom."

What literally happened to you when you were saved was that God took you out of Satan’s kingdom (taken out of Satan’s family, as he had been your father) and placed you into the family of God, the kingdom of Christ. It did not happen because you were intelligent or had great faith; it happened because you simply believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. God exchanged your world; He exchanged the kingdoms and He exchanged your Satan nature for the Divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).

If this understanding has never come to your mind, you are still looking for the kingdom to come. The kingdom for the born-again believer has already come—it came when Jesus died on the cross. The kingdom is in you! The way in which you are translated from darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son is by the Seed! The moment you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, God took the corruptible seed (Satan’s seed) out of you by the finished work of the cross!

If the Holy Spirit does not open up the scriptures to you and show you this fact, you will never know about your translation and the planting of the Seed—Christ.

Everything that is in Almighty God is in you right now by His Seed. The Seed that is in you is total Christ and you cannot get any more of Christ than you already have. Everything that God has for you is in you because it is in the Seed. This means that any time you say to God, "I cannot do it, it does not work, I don’t have enough faith to live it, I don’t have enough power to overcome," or "it is too easy for me to sin," your problem is that you are ignorant of what is in that Seed! The Seed (which is the person of Christ) will never operate against your free will if you ignore Him or never know He is there. He will let you go to the ends of the earth trying to get more of God even though you already have all of Him. Christ is your all in all (Eph. 1:23).

In the God-Seed is all the power you will ever need, in fact all of God’s power is in the Seed in you. "But of him [God] are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." (1 Cor. 1:30) The time is coming when God will reveal His Son in you in His fullness. That is where you are headed. At that time, Christ’s wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption will work spontaneously in you. It will flow out of you for it is coming out of the Seed and manifesting itself through you.

I believe the problem with most Christians is that they do not know the Seed that is in them. They do not understand who they are! Most Christians are looking for a way in which they can be a blessing to someone. This thinking is like an apple tree saying, "I sure would like to bear apples," or the unsaved looking into the minor and saying, "I hope I can be a good sinner today." When the apple tree and the unsaved go ahead and live spontaneously, they just naturally produce of their kind. They do not have to work at it! The life in you produces the works. He will be a blessing to others through you. He produces the fruit; you bear it! You need to have estab1ished in your mind the fact that the Seed is the vine, and the vine gives life to you, the branch (John 15:1-8). All that you the branch do is to hold the fruit. You rest in the vine and the vine brings forth the fruit.

Many Christ-life believers say that one of the hardest things for them is to stop their doing. However, as their minds become renewed to this truth they quit their (Continued on page 15) doing, and after a period of time their being starts to produce His true fruit. The limb that tries to bear fruit is out of order. The limb that rests in the vine holds the fruit of the vine and, in so doing, glorifies God (John 15:8).

In Christ: Phillip
